JOINING

Megan Hawkins (TBC)

When is Megan joining? Early 2027.

We've met a whole bunch of Nicola Mitchell's family, the Hawkins, but there is another key member set to join: Megan, daughter of Gemma and her husband Ned.

Speaking to Radio Times and other media at a recent press event, Wadey revealed: "Megan is out there, and we will meet her down the line - but not for a little bit."

"She's got her own storyline happening currently off screen, but in time it will very much be on screen.

"As we were constructing this family, there's stories about what gets passed down through generations. It means that we have established a character and done quite a lot of work actually already on what that's going to look like."

He added: "But I don't think [the other actors] even know all the details of it yet. That's an exciting, probably post-Christmas arrival for us."

The character was mentioned upon Gemma's introduction as her mother dealt with an apparently troublesome boyfriend.

Bosses from the BBC One soap have been revealed to be on the hunt for a new leading lady, having put out a casting call for Megan, a character teased as "confident, gorgeous and ready to cause chaos".

The breakdown issued by BBC Studios and shared by Variety describes the character as needing a female actor aged around 30, and confirms she will take on a "senior member of the team behind a bar", strongly hinting at a key job in one of Walford's boozers - perhaps as a barmaid in the Queen Vic or bartending at her relatives' establishment, Harry's Barn.

LEAVING

Janine Carter (Charlie Brooks)

Charlie Brooks as Janine Carter, smirking, for EastEnders.

When is Janine Carter leaving? November 2026.

We know that Janine Carter (Charlie Brooks) is only back for a brief stint as iconic EastEnders villainess Janine Carter (née Butcher).

However, what headaches will she cause for Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) during her short comeback?

We'll have to wait and see...

Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara)

Ravi looks around a corner in a scene from EastEnders

When is Ravi Gulati reportedly leaving? Late 2026/early 2027.

Actor Aaron Thiara has reportedly quit EastEnders after 4 years as Ravi Gulati and will finish filming with the soap at the end of the year.

According to a source speaking to The Sun: “Aaron has been at the centre of some of the soap's biggest storylines since his arrival as bad-boy Ravi back in 2022.

"He’s an incredibly popular member of the cast and the fans love him.

"He’s decided to focus on new projects, but will stay on set until the end of the year to see out some juicy storylines his character has in store."

The BBC declined to comment when approached by Radio Times.

How could Ravi be written out of the soap?

Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff)

Charlie Suff as Johnny Carter in EastEnders

When is Johnny leaving? Early 2027.

In addition to his mum Linda, Johnny Carter will be leaving Walford next year as actor Charlie Suff parts ways with the soap.

An EastEnders spokesperson told Radio Times: "We can confirm Charlie Suff will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish him all the best for the future."

Suff is the third actor to play Johnny, who was initially portrayed by Sam Strike when the family arrived in 2013. After an exit storyline, Ted Reilly stepped into his shoes between 2016 and 2018.

Since Suff's arrival, we've seen Johnny help his mum through her alcoholism, become embroiled in the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and fall head over heels for Callum Highway (Tony Clay).

The latter storyline saw their relationship exposed in front of Callum's imprisoned husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden).

Does this mean Callum and Johnny's romance will end in heartache?

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright)

Kellie Bright poses as Linda Carter in a promo image for EastEnders.

When is Linda Carter leaving? 2027.

The BBC and Kellie Bright have confirmed her exit as Linda Carter after 13 years in 2027, after the actress revealed plans to quit last year but stayed for a key storyline.

Speaking about her exit, Bright said: "EastEnders has been my home for thirteen years and I have absolutely loved being part of the show, but I have decided that it is now the right time for me to say goodbye.

"I made the tough decision over a year ago, and after discussing this with Kate Oates and Ben Wadey, they asked me to stay on to be part of an exciting storyline they had planned, and I happily agreed to extend my stay. I will miss my friends and colleagues hugely, but I am looking forward to my next chapter and spending more time with my wonderful boys."

How will Linda leave the soap next year?

Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier)

Pierre Counihan-Moullier smiles in a promo image as Oscar Branning for EastEnders.

When is Oscar Branning reportedly leaving? 2027.

The Sun reports that Pierre Counihan-Moullier has quit his role as Oscar Branning, a role he took on in 2025 and was met with huge acclaim upon his arrival.

The publication claims that the actor, whose comedic antics have already made Oscar a firm favourite, is yet to film his final scenes with the BBC One soap, but that the door will remain open for Counihan-Moullier.

What will this mean for the dramas on New Year's Day?

The BBC declined to comment when approached by Radio Times.

Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill)

Maddy Hill as Nancy Carter by a taxi cab door for EastEnders.

When is Nancy returning? TBC

Linda's eldest daughter Nancy has returned for a short stint, with actress Maddy Hill reprising the role.

Nancy was a regular character from 2014 to 2016 before leaving the show with Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel).

However, Nancy made a return in 2021 following the end of her off-screen marriage to Tamwar and made a comeback as a central cast member before departing once again the following year after the end of her romance with Zack Hudson (James Farrar).

Nancy also appeared in the same imagined sequence Lee did when Linda contemplated her untimely demise in 2024.

Speaking about her return, Hill said: "I am SO excited to be returning to Enders for a short stint and stepping back into Nancy’s shoes (or basketball shorts!). I’ve missed her!"

Executive producer Ben Wadey told the BBC: "We are absolutely thrilled to have Maddy and Danny back in Walford, bringing two much-loved pieces of the Carter family back together. And whilst Linda is delighted to have her children all together again, she’s got a lot to catch up on…"

Lee Carter (Danny Hatchard)

Danny Hatchard poses by the Albert Square sign as Lee Carter for EastEnders.

When is Lee leaving? TBC.

Ahead of Linda and Johnny's exits from the show, Danny Hatchard will reprise his role as Lee Carter for a short stint - but it's only a temporary return.

Speaking about his return, Hatchard said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be returning to EastEnders as Lee Carter. Albert Square has always felt like a home away from home, so I’m proper buzzing to be back grafting with the Enders family.”

The oldest Carter sibling, Lee, was introduced in 2014 and last seen as a regular character in 2017, when he left after his marriage to Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) crumbled, but has since returned in guest appearances.

Viewers will then undoubtedly remember that Lee was last seen during a funeral dream sequence in 2024 when Linda imagined circumstances surrounding her own untimely demise.

RETURNING

Libby Fox (Belinda Owusu)

Belinda Owusu as Libby Fox in EastEnders, stood beside the Albert Square sign

When is Libby Fox leaving? Winter TBC.

We know Libby Fox just left after a short stint as part of Denise's blood cancer story

However, we know Libby will be back again in time for the New Year as she's present for whatever wedding celebrations are going on.

So, Libby's exit was more of a 'goodbye for now' than a full-blown exit!

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner)

Lacey Turner as a shocked Stacey Slater in EastEnders

When is Stacey Slater reportedly returning? Late 2026/early 2027.

Lacey Turner took an extended break from the show recently, with Stacey departing for a new life in Brazil alongside her brother, Sean Slater, with her two youngest children, Arthur and Hope.

However, Turner has affirmed that she will return to the soap in the future, but no firm return date has been set.

Yet, The Sun claims that Lacey will be filming scenes for a short return in October and November.

Radio Times has approached the BBC for comment on this story.

When is Sadie King returning? Late 2026/early 2027.

RETURNING

Steve Marchant (Paul Opacic)

Key art of Steve Marchant in Emmerdale

When is Steve Marchant? Late 2026.

Kim Tate's ex-husband Steve Marchant is returning to the soap for the first time in 27 years.

Actor Paul Opacic will reprise his role as the roguish character who was last seen being sent to prison.

However, when Kim reveals to her recently arrived daughter, Thea Ramsden, that her father is Steve, what brings him back to the village?

The ITV soap has confirmed that a romantic reunion with Kim is "out of the question", however.

Speaking of his epic return, Opacic said: "Things were left rather bitter between Kim and Steve, so he's very surprised when a solicitor contacts him out of the blue. He guesses something is afoot when Kim starts brandishing notes to keep him away.

"With the sniff of more cash to be made, Steve wonders what is going on. And soon Thea leaves him a jaw-dropping voicemail."

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw added: "Determined to uncover the truth about her father, Thea devises a clever ruse to lure him into a meeting under false pretences.

"But will Steve fall for her deception, and does he even realise he has a child - or could he know secrets that even Kim isn't aware of?"

Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins)

When is Victoria Sugden returning? TBC.

Actress Isabel Hodgins has taken maternity leave from Emmerdale.

Isabel revealed to The Mirror: “I will miss it. I love the people there, but I’ve worked there for 19 years, so I feel like I’ve done what I’ve wanted to do and been selfish with my career.

“Now, it’s time to devote my life to being a mum, that feels right to me. But there’s still FaceTime, so they won’t forget me!”

The character left the village to stay with stepmother Diane Sugden to escape her guilt for killing half-brother John Sugden in self-defence.

]]> Coronation Street airs emotional Kit Green outburst in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-kit-green-outburst-gemma-winter-brown-genetic-test-results-itvx-newsupdate/ Thu, 05 Nov 2026 11:49:53 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-kit-green-outburst-gemma-winter-brown-genetic-test-results-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Thursday's episode of Coronation Street, which airs at 8.30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is feeling suffocated by his family and friends in Coronation Street.

Earlier this year, the character was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. The diagnosis came just before his wider family were made of the familial BRCA gene, following the death of Kit's estranged aunt Celeste.

Speaking to Radio Times at The National Television Awards 2026, Roberts detailed that taking on the storyline required "a lot of research", explaining that he previously had only been aware of breast cancer as a disease that primarily affected women.

"I never knew it happened," he said. "We've got a lot of intense research and hopefully this shows on screen. [Breast cancer] is kind of only a women's world at the minute, and we need to make it more accessible for men as well."

His mum Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) has since been told she carries the gene, while sister Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) anxiously awaited her test results in today's episode.

Kit and Lisa chat outside of the Rovers in a scene from Coronation Street

Word has now reached Weatherfield Police Station of Kit's diagnosis, and he was less than impressed to receive a pamper hamper from his colleagues that Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) had arranged. She also expressed concern when he lost his temper at a victim who was reporting her stolen phone.

The woman innocently burst into a coughing fit, and failed to cover her mouth. Terrified that it could make him unwell, he lashed out.

Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) watched the interaction, and quickly returned to the cobbles to tell Bernie, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) about his behaviour. Although Brody could see his dad's concerns, given he was particularly vulnerable because of his chemotherapy, the family decided to try and stage an intervention.

Kit didn't take it kindly. He railed at Bernie for being too overprotective, and thought that Lisa's comments about taking sick leave made him feel emasculated.

Gemma stands over Bernie and Kit at a dining table in Coronation Street

With Bernie being torn apart by her son, Brody leapt to her defence and revealed that he was the one who reported Kit to Lisa. A huge row ensued, and Kit stormed out.

Fortunately, there was some good news for the family. Gemma received a call from the hospital, who revealed that her genetic test proved negative and she can't pass it onto her children.

But will Kit ever accept the help he needs?

]]> Emmerdale airs return of twisted villain 21 months since last appearance in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-return-twisted-villain-tom-king-itvx-newsupdate/ Thu, 05 Nov 2026 07:30:42 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-return-twisted-villain-tom-king-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Thursday's episode of Emmerdale, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Tom King (James Chase) has returned to Emmerdale in today's (Thursday 4 November ) instalment.

The vile character's return was confirmed in September, almost two years since he made his last appearance. Between 2023 and 2024, fans of the ITV soap watched in horror as Tom physically, verbally and psychologically abused his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).

Despite initial warning signs during their engagement, she proceeded with their wedding. His behaviour spiralled from cruel comments to forcing her to have sex with him, before turning violent and leaving Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) for dead.

He smashed late mother Lisa's urn, faked the death of their beloved family pet Piper and recorded her every move using hidden CCTV cameras that he planted in her house.

Tom was eventually sentenced, but as episodes have shown over the last week, he's due for imminent release.

Kammy, Sam and Cain look at a wreath made of dead flowers in a scene from Emmerdale

In today's episode, Belle's boyfriend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) was spooked to find a wreath of dead flowers on the doorstep of Wishing Well Cottage. The card attached was addressed to Belle, and her elder brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was convinced that Tom had sent it as a threat.

Kammy suggested telling her, but Cain was firmly against it - worried that it would only make her more concerned about his potential return to the village. Sam Dingle (James Hooten) then suggested that it was unlikely Tom would ruin his chance of freedom just weeks before release.

Under the guise of attending a hospital appointment, Cain went to the prison to visit Tom. It was clear that he wasn't a changed man, and made a pointed comment about knowing that Cain is battling prostate cancer.

When the wreath was mentioned, Tom said that he had no knowledge of it, and reaffirmed what Sam said about not wanting to jeopardise what was lying ahead.

Tom King stood behind bars in a scene from Emmerdale

Little did Cain realise, back at home, Belle's wedding client Caz was apologising for the wreath. Her controlling fiancé Jordan had sent it to her after they clashed during a meeting the previous day, and it signposted to her that he might not be a good man.

Belle asked her to open up about what seemed to be a controlling relationship, offering her support and guidance. For the first time, Belle was looking at the situation from the other side of the table, and it was proving cathartic.

But given Tom clearly hasn't changed, should she be worried about his eventual return?

]]> EastEnders confirms violent character death and airs iconic character return in early BBC iPlayer release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-violent-craig-ingram-death-janine-carter-return-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Thu, 05 Nov 2026 06:30:41 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-violent-craig-ingram-death-janine-carter-return-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Thursday's episode of EastEnders, which airs at 7.30pm on BBC One, or can be streamed now on BBC iPlayer. A dramatic end to the week in EastEnders has seen one character die - and an old face return.

The death was, of course, groomer Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey), who was whacked across the head with a candlestick in the conclusion of last night's episode.

Victim Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) stood over his lifeless body. With blood pouring across the floor, it was clear that he had perished and she scarpered back to Albert Square.

At No. 27, an audience of concerned friends and family were stunned to see her walk through the door. Dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) noticed the bruise on her face, and, as he tried to approach her, she rushed upstairs.

In her bedroom, she studied the bruises on her face and arms, before finally returning downstairs to her family. Jack and step-mum Denise Fox (Diane Parish) struggled to make a breakthrough, and allowed Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) to stick around and watch a film in the hope that he could get answers.

Craig holds a phone in Amy's face in a scene from EastEnders

One thing that Amy wanted to know was whether Sean trusted the police. She knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before they called by and began asking questions about Craig's death.

He said that he'd learnt not to trust anyone - just as the police arrived. They wanted her to recall her final moments with Craig, before she managed to escape his clutches.

Amy said that she'd unlocked the bedroom door and ran away, not turning back to see whether he was chasing after her.

Will the police realise she's lying?

Elsewhere in Walford, with tensions running high for the Carter clan, Max Branning (Scott Maslen) tried to make a breakthrough with Nancy (Maddy Hill).

He hoped that she'd be able to see his point of view better than her mum Linda (Kellie Bright), but upon hearing criticism about her alcoholic brother Lee (Danny Hatchard), she warned him to stay well out of her family's business.

With nobody else left to turn to, he confides in daughter Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa) about his fears that he'd never be enough for Linda. She would always compare him to "Saint Mick", her late husband, and he could never compare. She urged her dad to keep fighting for what he wanted.

Lauren and Max have a chat in her kitchen in a scene from EastEnders

Father and daughter then walked out into the Square to watch a fireworks display. As Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) smooched Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) in the gardens, the Carters watched on - having called a truce from their earlier disagreement.

Seeing how happy everyone was, Max reaffirmed his desire to make Linda forget "that Mick Carter ever existed".

But will that be possible? In a dingy office, Janine Carter (Charlie Brooks) staged a cryptic return, seeming to be in a serious meeting with an unknown man.

Charlie Brooks as Janine Carter, smirking, for EastEnders.

He handed her a brown envelope, declaring that its contents were "perfect", before sliding it back across the desk to him.

What does the envelope contain, and what could it mean for the residents of Albert Square?

And most importantly, why is Janine involved?

]]> Channel 5 confirm when classic Home and Away episodes will air on their new TV channel https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/home-and-away/channel-5-classic-home-and-away-episodes-air-new-channel-newsupdate/ Wed, 04 Nov 2026 13:36:00 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/home-and-away/channel-5-classic-home-and-away-episodes-air-new-channel-newsupdate/ It's almost time to go back to The Bay. Classic editions of Home and Away are getting closer each day - here's when and where you can watch them.

It was confirmed in September that Channel 5 - officially known as just 5 since last year - would be launching new channel 5Drama which will air everything from All Creatures Great and Small to American favourites like Gilmore Girls and even the first 10 series of the BBC's Waterloo Road.

Home and Away will start all the way back from episode one, which originally aired on Australian screens in 1988.

5 boss Reemah Sakaan said: "Award winning drama is increasingly at the heart of what 5 offers viewers, so it’s the right time to give it a dedicated home.

"This, and the expansion of our portfolio across multiple platforms, is about sharpening our channels and giving viewers a clear offer wherever they’re watching – on linear, 5Streaming, Freely or YouTube."

Alf Stewart looks worried driving a car in Home and Away

5Drama began broadcasting on 21 October, though as of yet, no action from Summer Bay has aired. That's all about to change from Monday 16 November, with episodes airing in a double-bill format.

Episodes from the first two seasons will be able to view chronologically each weekday between 12 and 1pm. Don't worry if you miss anything, as an omnibus edition will screen each weekend.

If you can't wait for the next slice of drama, a whopping 30 episodes will drop on 5Streaming from the same date, with a further 10 episodes being added weekly.

Original cast member Ray Meagher, who continues to appear in contemporary episodes, said of the repeats: "It’s fantastic to know that Home and Away is continuing to find new audiences in the UK, and now viewers can go right back to the beginning on 5Drama.

"There’s a lot of history in those early episodes - and a lot of memories for Alf and the whole Summer Bay community. I hope fans enjoy taking a trip back to where it all began."

His co-star Emily Symons, who plays Marilyn Chambers, added: "It’s so special to think that UK fans can revisit the very beginning of Home and Away on 5Drama,"

Cast of classic Home and Away.

"Marilyn has been such a huge part of my life, and seeing those early episodes again is a wonderful reminder of where her story began.

"I know there are so many Home and Away fans in the UK who have grown up with these characters, so I hope they love going back to Summer Bay and rediscovering some of those early stories."

The decision to show Classic Home and Away comes following UKTV's acquisition of Classic Neighbours, joining Classic EastEnders, Casualty, Holby City and The Bill on the channel.

ITV3 broadcasts Classic Emmerdale and Coronation Street each weekday.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 6:30pm on 5STAR. Classic Home and Away begins 16 November at 12pm.

]]> Emmerdale airs explosive Joe Tate and Caleb Miligan confrontation in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-joe-tate-caleb-miligan-confrontation-itvx-newsupdate/ Wed, 04 Nov 2026 11:30:13 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-joe-tate-caleb-miligan-confrontation-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Wednesday's episode of Emmerdale, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) has promised "fireworks" in Emmerdale after a confrontation with his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

Earlier this year, the millionaire vowed to avenge his wife-to-be Dawn Fletcher's (Olivia Bromley) death. Poor Dawn was convinced that her fiancé was untrustworthy, and was planning to flee the country with ex-hubby Billy (Jay Kontzle) on the day of her wedding. Caleb and his wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) provided assistance, offering accommodation and a contact who could provide fake passports.

Ultimately, the plan backfired. Billy confessed to Dawn that Joe wasn't the man he'd been painted to be, and she had second thoughts about their new life.

Returning to the village to be wed, Dawn and Joe were caught up in a horrific car accident and she suffered internal bleeding. After giving birth to their son, William, she passed away.

After several attempts at revenge, Joe teamed up with Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) to try and drive a wedge between the Milligans. Over recent weeks, we've seen Sadie pull Ruby away from work to drink in The Woolpack, something which has begun to anger Caleb.

Sadie and Joe in the Home Farm kitchen in Emmerdale

He became concerned about his wife's drinking and reckless behaviour, and was stunned to see her dancing with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) in the pub earlier this week.

Sadie followed an upset Caleb home, and after telling him that she'd seen Ruby leaving the boozer with Ross, she managed to seduce him.

The next day, a guilt-ridden Caleb realised that his wife had actually slept on Vanessa Woodfield's (Michelle Hardwick) sofa. However, in a bizarre twist, Sadie met with Joe and told him that she hadn't spent the night with Caleb, and that there was no evidence to prove that either way.

Luckily for Joe, Caleb had accidentally revealed all.

In today's episode, her reasoning for backing out of the agreement was revealed. Sadie explained that she was developing real feelings for Caleb. Joe was furious that she wasn't going to work with him anymore, but he still had Caleb's confession in his arsenal.

He said that it was the most appropriate time of the year for the revelation to drop – and that Caleb should be very worried about the physical and metaphorical fireworks that were about to ignite.

Later, Caleb was quaking in his boots when he and Sadie passed Joe and baby William on Main Street. It was clear that Joe was enjoying seeing his uncle squirm, knowing that he could expose the secret at any moment.

When will that be?

]]> Coronation Street airs exposure of Idris Nazir's cruel plot against Carla Connor-Swain in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-exposure-idris-nazirs-cruel-plot-carla-connor-swain-itvx-newsupdate/ Wed, 04 Nov 2026 07:30:09 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-exposure-idris-nazirs-cruel-plot-carla-connor-swain-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Wednesday's episode of Coronation Street, which airs at 8.30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) is on a mission to bring down Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) in Coronation Street - and he's just been caught out.

Earlier this week, Idris listened in as Carla and her factory manager Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) attempted to secure a crucial contract during a business meeting at the Chariot Square Hotel.

When the potential client left to nip to the loo, Idris cornered him and painted Carla as untrustworthy.

As a result of the deal falling through, she told wife Lisa (Vicky Myers) that it was likely that she wouldn't be able to give her workforce their much-deserved Christmas bonus. But her predicament was about to get a whole lot worse.

We saw Idris instructing teenager Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) to break into the factory with a lighter and cause chaos. He picked up foster mum Sally Metcalfe's (Sally Dynevor) spare keys from her house, and disappeared in through the side door...

Later that day, Sally alerted Carla and Lisa to the fact that the alarm was going off. They didn't find the business in flames - but waterlogged. The sprinkler system had gone off, and Carla declared that it was "the end".

Little did Brody realise, someone had spotted him.

In today's episode, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) confronted Idris and Brody at Speed Daal after witnessing the teenager breaking into the factory. Under pressure, Idris revealed that he had paid Brody to trigger the sprinklers, deliberately destroying the important order in an attempt to force Carla into selling the business.

Despite her anger, Leanne agreed to conceal the truth about their involvement.

Meanwhile, Carla gathered the factory employees and delivered the devastating news that the business would have to close, leaving her able to offer them just four weeks' pay.

In a private conversation with Lisa, she admitted that she had failed to arrange the necessary maintenance for the sprinkler system and feared this would give the insurance company grounds to reject her claim.

Elsewhere, Brody began to regret his actions and was appalled by Idris and Leanne's apparent indifference towards the factory's closure and the livelihoods of the employees who would be left without work.

Will he come clean to Carla about Idris's interference?

]]> EastEnders airs violent killer cliffhanger for Amy Mitchell story in early BBC iPlayer release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-violent-killer-cliffhanger-amy-mitchell-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Wed, 04 Nov 2026 06:30:38 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-violent-killer-cliffhanger-amy-mitchell-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Wednesday's episode of EastEnders, which airs at 7.30pm on BBC One or can be streamed now on BBC iPlayer. Has Amy Mitchell's (Ellie Dadd) grooming nightmare finally come to an end in EastEnders?

For months, former copper Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey) has preyed on the teenager's vulnerabilities, and even helped to cover up an attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray) that she committed.

When questions were raised about why he'd lost his job, Craig said it was because he was found to be withholding evidence. The truth was that a series of complaints of inappropriate behaviour had been lodged against him from colleagues.

Earlier this week, while living in a grotty bedsit and planning to leave the country together, Craig slapped Amy. He was furious that the bank account containing her inheritance had been frozen.

Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) devised a plan to get ailing Denise Fox (Diane Parish) to record a video, implying that she'd lost in her battle with acute myeloid leukaemia and wanted to say goodbye. Amy fell for it, while outside the hospital, Sean caught up with Craig.

However, a nurse gave Denise's game away when she questioned why she was on the cancer ward without an appointment.

In today's episode, picking up from that cliffhanger, Denise attempted to persuade Amy not to return to Craig, but she couldn't get past the fact that her step-mum had been dishonest and walked away.

Meanwhile, Sean and Craig became embroiled in a fight, though the sight of Amy meant that Sean lost his grip. They were both stunned to see one another, but before a reunion or explanation could take place, Craig quickly bundled her into his car and drove off.

Once back at the bedsit, Craig contacted Jack and demanded £100,000 in exchange for Amy’s release. She was sickened, though he insisted that he wasn't going to leave her as long as it all went to plan.

When he went out to get dinner, Amy began to understand just how dangerous Craig really was. She called Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega), who quickly passed the phone to Sean - but it was too late.

Craig attempted to force himself on her, and after dealing another slap, Amy tried to outrun him. She quickly ran to the bedroom, and upon unlocking the door, struck him across the head with a candle holder in self-defence.

He slumped to the floor, with blood pouring from his head.

Has Amy killed Craig?

]]> EastEnders legend Rob Kazinsky reveals the importance of Roxy Mitchell in Sean Slater's future in soap https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-rob-kazinsky-importance-roxy-mitchell-sean-slater-future-exclusive-newsupdate/ Tue, 03 Nov 2026 17:00:32 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-rob-kazinsky-importance-roxy-mitchell-sean-slater-future-exclusive-newsupdate/ Roxy was the love of Sean's life. Robert Kazinsky has stressed the importance of Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) to character Sean Slater upon his return to EastEnders.

Walford's 2000s bad boy returned last week at a very convenient time. His former step-daughter Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) had ran away with her groomer Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey), and Sean immediately joined the search to find her.

Her dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) hasn't always supported his investigation techniques. In today's episode, Sean suggested getting Denise Fox (Diane Parish) to record an emotional video appeal, pretending that the prognosis of her cancer battle was looking bleak.

But how will Amy react when she learns that Sean has been the driving force behind the plot? After all, it's been almost a decade since Roxy died - and Amy doesn't really know him.

"Roxy is the love of his life," Kazinsky told Radio Times, "he might break a heart here or there, but Roxy is the love of Sean's life, and nobody will ever take that space."

Robert Kazinsky as Sean Slater and Rita Simons as Roxy Mitchell. Robert is holding up a piece of paper whilst Rita looks down at the table.

The actor continued: "I think that he will never really love again, and that's really sad. I think a lot of people find themselves in the same boat and he still sees himself as married to Roxy.

"It doesn't mean he wants to cheat on her, but he still views his promises to her as things he has to keep. He still views Amy as Roxy, and needs to be protected and needs her guardian.

"And I think that his love for Roxy is the thing that is the driving force of his ability to have gotten past his own demons. It's the thing that he has to protect."

The conclusion of today's instalment saw Sean challenge Craig outside of Walford Hospital, taking his car keys and saying that they were due a chat. It seems that the character certainly hasn't lost his unpredictable nature!

"I think everybody should be frightened of him," Kazinsky continued.

Sean stands, arms folded, behind a serious Jack Branning in a scene from EastEnders

"One of the conversations that I had with the producers was... the beautiful thing about Sean is a lot of people are tied to areas of the Square. They're tied to family or tied to this and the other. But Sean is a completely unattached acorn that can just go anywhere.

"You could put him in any scene with anyone, and something might happen. We do see that over the next few months. Suddenly, Sean's there, and everything's chaos."

The actor concluded: "He could suddenly just turn a dime and string you up by a lamp post, or beat you up, or give you all his money, or love you to death. The unpredictable nature of him is what makes him."

]]> Emmerdale airs deception towards oblivious Robert Sugden in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-deception-oblivious-robert-sugden-itvx-newsupdate/ Tue, 03 Nov 2026 13:04:34 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-deception-oblivious-robert-sugden-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Tuesday's episode of Emmerdale, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) thinks he has the upper hand in Emmerdale - but it couldn't be further from the truth.

The character is currently on a mission to expand the Sugden Empire. This began by becoming tenant farmer of the land his grandmother Annie owned, and renaming it Emmerdale Farm.

Robert then manipulated Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) into selling The Hide restaurant to him, though when she discovered his underhand tactics, decided to get her own back. She'd originally agreed to remain as licensee until he could obtain the correct operational certificates, though decided to cancel them and sell the fixtures and fittings.

With no money to actually get the business running, he held a poker night to try and recover some cash. His winnings were stolen by Woolpack landlady Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), though after being caught by her granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), she returned them.

Now, Charity has another plan.

Robert talks to Marlon in the Woolpack kitchen in a scene from Emmerdale

Earlier this week, Robert could see that Woolie chef Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) was stressed and followed him into the kitchen to make an offer.

He said that, given his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) was reluctant to return to the village and was instead choosing to remain in Portugal, he was looking for someone to take charge of his new Smokehouse's kitchen. Marlon was reluctant, though upon hearing that the role was actually as "creative director", there could be a hefty wage incentive.

In today's episode, Charity caught Marlon and Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) admiring a new set of kitchen knives that Robert had bought. She questioned where they'd come from, and Marlon tried to pretend that he'd made some money from online influencing.

Charity wasn't convinced, and after finding a business card, realised that it was Robert's doing.

Later, after Marlon accepted the job offer, on the condition that Mary was taken on as his sous chef. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was worried whether they'd be able to afford them, though upon the ultimatum that it was both of them or nothing, Robert was forced to accept.

An explosive confrontation with Charity then broke out in the pub. She barred Robert and Aaron, before also lashing out towards Marlon and Mary.

But it was all an act.

Charity has asked the pair to go up to the Smokehouse and sabotage the venture on opening night, leaving Robert high and dry at the most important time.

Will Robert rumble their plan?

Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) has caught up with Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey) in EastEnders – and it's not going to be a polite conversation.

Craig was waiting outside of Walford Hospital for Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), who has ran off with the groomer to start a new life away from Albert Square. He's preyed on her vulnerabilities, and manipulated her into thinking she'd be happier with him.

She even got her hands on £100,000 worth of inheritance money, though the police subsequently froze her bank account and this cash can't be accessed.

Earlier this week, in a worrying turn, Craig lashed out at Amy and slapped her across the face.

In today's episode, he tried to justify his actions by saying they'd both hurt one another, and that when the account was frozen, it was like a "dagger to the heart".

Amy was clearly nervous of his unpredictable temperament, though when she was handed an option to leave, she chose to stay with him.

Back on the Square, her dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) had come to the realisation that there was little they could do and it would just be a waiting game moving forward. However, Sean was reluctant to sit about, and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) urged Jack to listen to his ideas.

He suggested getting Denise Fox (Diane Fox) to record a video from the hospital, saying that she's taken a turn for the worse amid her cancer battle. It was hoped that this footage would then convince Amy to return.

Jack said that he wasn't prepared to tempt fate with Denise's life, though she thought it was their last hope and would be better than sitting around and waiting for an answer.

Meanwhile, Craig and Amy planned to sneak over to her home to steal money from her family. Using a spare key, Amy creeped into the Fox & Hair salon and tried to prise the till open. Suddenly, Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan) entered and showed her the video.

Denise was seen to beg Amy for an opportunity to say goodbye following bad news from the hospital.

Amy rushed out and towards Craig's car. He was furious that she had no money with her, and was reluctant to take her to the hospital.

However, knowing that Amy wasn't going to settle without seeing Denise, he agreed to take her there. Denise was stunned to see a mark on Amy's face, and wasn't satisfied with her claims that it was accidental.

The whole plot then fell apart as a nurse entered the room and asked why Denise was there - she's not due any treatment. Amy realised that she'd been duped.

Outside, Sean clocked Craig in his car and swung the door open, grabbing the keys from the ignition.

What will Sean do?

Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) has declared "the end [of Underworld]" in Coronation Street.

It comes after ruthless property investor Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) executed a vile plan to force her to sell the 30 year old knicker factory.

Last week, Idris told girlfriend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) that he'd been eyeing up the business, and wondered what price he'd have to give Carla for her to sell up. Leanne insisted that she could never see a world where Carla would let go of the venture, given she's owned it for best part of two decades.

Despite that, he continued plotting.

Earlier this week, upon hearing that a crucial meeting was taking place at the Chariot Square Hotel to secure a client, he watched Carla and Underworld manager Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) from afar before swooping in on the man during their absence.

Carla and Michael smile at a client in a scene from Coronation Street

He said that Carla couldn't be trusted, and that she wasn't the sort of person he should be dealing with if he wanted to keep his good reputation.

When the potential client returned to her, he said that despite his earlier enthusiasm he'd have to hold off on a concrete decision.

Carla was puzzled, and later that day, told wife Lisa (Vicky Myers) that because the deal hadn't gone through, she was going to have to sacrifice her workers' Christmas bonus. The future of the factory also depended on a large order being completed.

In today's episode, Idris secretly listened as Carla confide in Lisa at the café that she had been forced to scrap the bonus.

Later, Carla gathered the devastated workforce and admitted that she had been desperately struggling to keep the business afloat. Meanwhile, Idris was meeting with Brody just metres away behind the factory and, after handing him a lighter, revealed that he had a job for him.

Brody let himself into No.4 and stole foster mum Sally Metcalfe’s (Sally Dynevor) set of factory keys. After making sure nobody was around, he slipped into the deserted building, completely unaware that Leanne was watching him.

Brody sneaks around outside of the factory in a scene from Coronation Street

Once inside, he deliberately activated the sprinkler system before making his escape through the back door. Meanwhile, Sally had found Carla and Lisa in the Rovers and alerted them that the factory alarm had been triggered.

Rushing over the cobbles, the Connor-Swains were horrified to discover water pouring out from beneath the door, trickling down the walls and across the sewing machines.

Faced with the devastating damage, Carla surveyed the flooded premises and admitted to Lisa that the business had been left in ruins.

With the factory seemingly beyond saving, she has been forced to accept that there was nothing more she could do to rescue it.

Will Idris and Brody be caught?

Tensions are rising in Emmerdale, where Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is troubled by the forthcoming return of nephew Samson, who accidentally stabbed her son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) during a tirade of transphobic abuse two years ago.

There’s also the impending release of domestic abuser Tom King (James Chase), who tormented and manipulated wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) for over a year.

When the clan’s patriarch Cain (Jeff Hordley) discovers that the two men are sharing a prison cellblock, he orders Samson to commit an attack that ultimately extends his sentence. Before long, a war is ignited between Cain and sibling Sam (James Hooten).

Elsewhere, Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) receives a surprising job offer from Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) continues her scheming with Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

Plus, with Thea Ramsden's (Chelsea Edge) real identity now out and in the open, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) decide to keep a close eye on her.

Here's everything happening in the episodes of Emmerdale airing between Monday 9 and Wednesday 11 November.

5 Emmerdale spoilers for next week

1. Belle Dingle prepares to confront her abuser Tom King

Belle and Kammy stood in the hospital ward in a scene from Emmerdale

Sam, Belle and Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) make preparations for Samson's return, though their plans are thrown into chaos when Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) arrives with some news – Tom has been brutally attacked and is now fighting for his life.

As the family struggle to process what's happened, Belle is horrified when Cain admits that he arranged the attack. Matters take an even darker turn when Sam receives a phone call revealing that Samson has assaulted someone and won't be coming home after all.

The penny soon drops for everyone as they realise Cain effectively sent his nephew after Tom. Sam is furious, accusing his brother of having little regard for his own son and suggesting that neither Cain nor Moira ever truly forgave Samson for what happened to Matty.

Kammy, Belle and a sad Sam stand beneath a

With tempers reaching boiling point, Sam launches himself at his brother. Cain then storms out, leaving Sam overwhelmed by emotion as he breaks down in tears.

The following day brings another blow for Sam when he hears from Samson. The latest charges could see him facing a lengthy prison sentence, leaving his father devastated.

Meanwhile, Belle is increasingly consumed by anxiety over how Tom might react to the attack. Kammy does his best to reassure her, but his efforts have little effect. He promises to stand by her as she prepares to revisit the horrific abuse she suffered at Tom's hands, with Belle terrified that Cain may have handed her ex-husband an excuse to retaliate.

Moira, Kammy and Belle try to drag Sam's hand off Cain's throat in a scene from Emmerdale

When Sam arrives, he makes his position clear, insisting that Cain and Moira should pack their bags and leave Wishing Well Cottage. But with neither man willing to back down, Cain puts the responsibility firmly on Belle, demanding that she make the final decision.

At breaking point, Belle finally loses her patience and gives both Dingle siblings a piece of her mind, dismantling their arguments one by one. Despite the objections around her, she makes a startling announcement: she's going to visit Tom.

Her decision leaves both Cain and Sam looking thoroughly ashamed.

At the hospital, Kammy attempts to settle Belle's nerves before she goes into Tom's room. He's far from comfortable with the idea of her facing him alone, but Belle is convinced that his presence would only provoke Tom further.

Reluctantly, he agrees to give her ten minutes before stepping in to get help if necessary. As the moment approaches, both are left bracing themselves for what could happen next.

2. Nicola King is saddened when Kev Barton leaves the Main Street Café

Kev and Nicola have a chat in a scene from Emmerdale

Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) is taken aback when best pal Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) suggests that Kev might have developed feelings for her. Laurel is convinced there's something going on between the pair, but she is quick to dismiss the idea.

Kev, meanwhile, has been sharing his own interpretation of events with son Lewis (Bradley Riches), and it seems he's equally convinced that there's a spark between him and Nicola. His admission leaves Lewis concerned about where things might be heading.

Elsewhere, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) reluctantly agrees to give Kev an opportunity to prove himself in the kitchen, tasking him with cooking some steaks. Much to Robert's surprise, his ex-hubby rises to the challenge and impresses him enough to land himself a job as chef at the Sugdens' Smokehouse.

Aaron and Robert sit at a table outside of the caff, with Lewis and Kev stood above them in a scene from Emmerdale

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) isn't particularly thrilled by the arrangement, but Lewis is delighted to see his dad getting a chance to make something of himself.

There's one person Kev finds much harder to break the news to, however. When Nicola learns that he's leaving the café, the pair are both visibly saddened by the prospect of going their separate ways.

She suggests they share one final cup of tea together, but Kev turns down the offer. With feelings clearly running deeper than either is prepared to admit, the pair are left nursing a quiet heartbreak.

3. Sadie King continues to plot against Caleb and Ruby Miligan

Sadie, Caleb and Ruby clink glasses in the office of the depot in a scene from Emmerdale

Joe continues to tighten the screws on Caleb by threatening to expose his affair with Sadie. Caleb remains convinced that wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) would never believe him, but Joe has another weapon in his arsenal.

Knowing just how vulnerable she is, Joe makes it clear that Sadie could be his key to bringing Caleb down.

Later, Caleb is less than impressed when he catches Sadie using his phone to finish off some business deals. She attempts to charm him with a little flirtation, but her mood soon changes when Caleb offers to put down a deposit on a flat for her in Banbury.

Sadie sits down, with Caleb and Ruby (who is holding a champagne bottle) stood above her in a scene from Emmerdale

Hurt by his assumption that she's only interested in what she can get from him, Sadie urges Caleb to stop thinking the worst of her. Turning on the emotion, she manages to leave him feeling thoroughly guilty.

Eventually, Caleb reluctantly agrees to help her with some paperwork, supposedly for Ruby's benefit. Yet the chemistry between them remains difficult to ignore, even as Caleb does his best to resist temptation.

Things take a turn when Ruby discovers that one of her clients hasn't received their order. Furious, she immediately points the finger at Sadie, who is left baffled by the apparent mistake. But when the order list is produced, Sadie quickly realises that Caleb has been tampering with the paperwork.

Caleb later attempts to apologise, only for Ruby to burst in and congratulate Sadie on the way she's handled the situation. It's a particularly bitter pill for Caleb to swallow as he realises his plan has spectacularly backfired, with his partner and Sadie seemingly closer than ever.

Once they're alone, Sadie makes her feelings known, tearing into Caleb for his betrayal. She then drops another revelation: she understood the order lists perfectly well all along. Her real motivation was simply to find an excuse to spend more time with him.

Sadie appears to suggest that she'll cause no further trouble, but her apparent surrender may be nothing more than a performance. As Caleb walks away, she turns her attention to the hidden camera footage of their affair, making it clear that she's not quite ready to let him go.

4. Kim Tate publicly declares Thea Ramsden as her daughter – with Joe Tate growing suspicious

Kim and Thea sat in The Woolpack in a scene from Emmerdale

Kim's frosty attitude following Dawn's death continues to cause upset, with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) particularly hurt when another invitation to spend time with her and Thomas is rejected.

Later, Kim uses her time to build bridges with Thea instead, by suggesting they spend some time together. However, when her mum hesitates over telling Mary about their relationship in The Woolpack, the detective is left devastated.

Once Thea has gone, Kim finally shares the truth with Mary, who takes the news on board. With encouragement from her friend, Kim decides to make another attempt at reaching out to her daughter.

Kim pushes William in his pram with Thea. Mary is stood beside them chatting in a scene from Emmerdale

As she anxiously waits to hear back, Kim finds herself confiding in Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who is stunned by the revelation. She encourages her not to give up, drawing on her own experience of building a relationship with Ryan Stocks (James Moore).

Charity subsequently speaks to Thea and reveals that Kim has told her the truth about their connection. She also offers her some food for thought, hoping to help her see things from Kim's perspective.

The conversation appears to have an impact, as Thea later turns up to see Kim. Overjoyed by the unexpected visit, Kim is thrilled to have another opportunity to get to know her daughter, although Joe remains distinctly uneasy about the situation.

Finally, at The Woolpack, Kim decides it's time to stop keeping things under wraps and publicly announces her relationship with Thea to the assembled locals. Thea is quietly delighted by the gesture, while Kim appears happier than ever at the prospect of finally welcoming her daughter into the family.

But not everyone is celebrating. Joe's attitude remains decidedly cold, and as mother and daughter leave together, he joins Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) in agreeing that Thea needs to be watched closely.

5. Robert Sugden receives a much-needed financial boost for The Smokehouse

Robert and Aaron outside of The Hide in a scene from Emmerdale

Kev's enthusiasm for his new role at the Smokehouse is already proving difficult to contain, prompting Aaron and Robert to step in and keep him from getting too carried away.

Robert, however, has reason to be celebrating when cousin Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) agrees to invest £10,000 of her savings into the business. The substantial financial boost leaves him delighted and seemingly gives The Smokehouse a much-needed shot in the arm.

But the celebrations bring an unexpected sting for Gabby, who is left heartbroken from afar as Robert excitedly unveils the business's brand-new sign.

Is she regretting selling up?

The folk of Coronation Street may attempt to keep their affairs behind closed doors, but it doesn’t take long for a long-buried secret or two to claw its way to the surface.

Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) has made an almighty blunder by sleeping with mum Sarah’s (Tina O'Brien) ex-boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) while she was on remand for murder, and, in true soap style, she fell pregnant.

Amid his stage three breast cancer battle, a check-up at the hospital brings an earth-shattering sight - Bethany strolling out of the maternity wing. Will she right her wrongs, or will the presence of boyfriend Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) force her to tell yet another lie to the copper about their child’s paternity?

Elsewhere, a special episode focuses on Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and her "angels"; Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger), Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) and Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins).

Plus, Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) is devastated to realise she'll have to close the factory and Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) faces a major setback.

Here's everything happening in the episodes of Coronation Street airing between Monday 9 and Wednesday 11 November.

7 Coronation Street spoilers for next week

1. A special episode focuses on Debbie Webster and her angels

Glenda, Debbie, Bernie, Sally, Abi and Christina sit in a circle in a scene from Coronation Street

Debbie is determined to make son Carl Webster's (Jonathan Howard) 40th birthday one to remember and enlists the help of Abi, Bernie, Christina, Sally and Glenda to pull off a special surprise.

Gathering the women together, Debbie tips a plastic crate full of photographs onto the carpet, revealing hundreds of treasured snaps taken over the years. Explaining that she wants to put together a photo book for Carl, she asks the group to help her create the perfect birthday gift.

However, what begins as a nostalgic trip down memory lane soon takes an uncomfortable turn as old wounds and unresolved tensions come bubbling to the surface. As the women revisit their complicated family histories, difficult memories and past traumas threaten to derail the evening.

Debbie and Ronnie have a serious conversation in a scene from Coronation Street

While some find comfort in opening up about their personal struggles, others are forced to confront decisions that could change their lives forever.

Despite the heated exchanges, the group eventually manages to clear the air and put their differences aside. By the end of the evening, Debbie's angels are united once more, although several of the women are left privately contemplating some major decisions.

Later in the week, Debbie has another bombshell to deliver when she reveals to husband Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) that she's ready to retire. Having made up her mind, she announces that she's signed the hotel over to him.

But that's not all. Debbie also tells Ronnie that she'd like Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) to become his right-hand man, potentially setting the pair up for an exciting new chapter.

2. Sarah Platt begs Kit Green for a second chance

Sarah attends to a collapsed Kit in a scene from Coronation Street

Kit finds himself struggling with a growing sense of isolation while undergoing chemotherapy, and the emotional toll of his situation becomes increasingly difficult to hide.

Sarah opens up to Bernie about Kit's behaviour, admitting that he's been keeping his distance and seemingly avoiding her. Bernie suggests that he is simply pushing everyone away as he struggles to cope.

But Sarah's concerns deepen when she spots Kit collapsing outside the tram stop. Horrified by what she's witnessing, she rushes over to help him.

Later, back at the Redbank Apartments , Kit finally lets his guard down and breaks down in front of Sarah. Taken aback by the sight of him so vulnerable, she pulls him into a comforting hug. Having seen just how much he is struggling, she makes a heartfelt suggestion that she wants him to move back in permanently, believing they can finally become one happy family again.

Could this be the fresh start Kit desperately needs?

3. Christina Boyd tries to win Richie Parkinson's trust

Christina is determined to gain Richie Parkinson's (Nathan Sussex) trust and heads to Highfield Prison to visit him. However, rather than simply offering her support, she decides to take a more calculated approach.

In an attempt to make a connection, Christina invents a story about having a brother who went through a similar ordeal to him. Her apparent understanding seems to strike a chord, with Richie grateful for what he believes is her genuine empathy.

But her actions haven't gone unnoticed. George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is increasingly concerned that she's becoming too involved and fears she's getting herself into something she may struggle to control.

Elsewhere, Sally receives some unexpected news when Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) reveals that he's taken a call from social services. Having been cleared of any wrongdoing, she is informed that Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin) will be returning to live with them next week.

The news leaves Sally stunned, and although the situation might seem like a cause for celebration, she's far from convinced everything will be straightforward. Later, while at the café, Sally confides in Christina about her worries surrounding Lucy's return.

4. Carla Connor-Swain has to sell Underworld

Carla hugs Sean as Izzy and Michael watch on in a scene from Coronation Street

Carla is beginning to fear the worst for the factory after showing the loss adjuster around the premises. Having seen the damage assessment process for herself, she admits to Lisa that she doubts they'll receive the insurance payout they're hoping for.

Meanwhile, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) watches with disgust as Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) approaches and puts on an act of sympathy, seemingly oblivious to the damage he's caused.

The situation takes another turn when Sally and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) receive an email from Carla revealing that she's decided to sell the factory. Both are devastated by the news, and Brody soon finds Sally in tears when he calls into the pub.

Idris squares up to Brody in a scene from Coronation Street

Furious at what Idris has done, Brody confronts him and issues a stark warning: unless he comes clean, Brody will tell Carla the truth himself.

Over at the café, Carla attempts to explain the decision to Sean, insisting that nobody is more devastated about the factory's future than she is. She makes it clear that making staff redundant is the last thing she wants, but believes she has no other option.

Idris, meanwhile, continues his performance of sympathy.

Later, in the Rovers, he corners Brody and attempts to win him over with a tempting promise. He assures the teenager that once he gets his hands on the factory, the workers will all be offered their jobs back - with even better pay.

5. Bethany Platt's pregnancy is revealed to Kit Green

Kit looks mortified as Sarah hugs Bethany in a scene from Coronation Street's hospital

Bethany and Ryan enjoy dinner at Speed Daal, where he attempts to reassure her about the situation with her baby's father. He makes it clear that if she changes her mind and decides she wants to involve him, he won't stand in her way.

Bethany masks her unease, but it's clear the conversation has left her with plenty to think about. When Sarah fails to show up, Ryan steps in and offers to accompany her to her scan instead.

Sarah remains concerned about Kit following his collapse and insists that he gets checked over at the hospital. However, as he leaves the maternity department, he spots Bethany and Ryan heading out.

In a moment of shock, Kit realises that Bethany is pregnant!

6. Mary Taylor loses her job at Preston's Petals

Mary looks sad as Tracy breaks some bad news in Coronation Street's flower shop

Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has some exciting news for daughter Amy (Elle Mulvaney) when she offers her the opportunity to take charge of the flower shop's website. Delighted by the prospect, Amy is more than happy to accept.

But Tracy's enthusiasm is hiding a rather uncomfortable reality. With Amy taking on the new role, staffing costs will need to be reduces and Mary will have to go.

Once Mary works out that Amy's appointment means she's being pushed out, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Rather than wait for Tracy to break the news, Mary announces that she's already secured another job elsewhere in town.

Amy talks to Tracy behind the counter at Preston's Petals in a scene from Coronation Street

In an emotional farewell, Mary embraces her boss and thanks her for everything she's done before heading out, struggling to hold back her tears. Tracy is left feeling terrible as the reality of the departure sinks in.

Has she made a decision she'll come to regret?

7. A new Jodie Ramsey mystery begins

Shona and David with baby Harper in a scene from Corrie

There's further cause for concern at No.8 when Jodie Ramsey's (Olivia Frances Brown) phone begins ringing on the sideboard. Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) answers the call, but whatever she hears immediately causes her expression to change.

Left shaken by the conversation, Shona turns to David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and discusses the threatening phone call. As the pair try to make sense of what's happened, they begin questioning whether the call was really as straightforward as it seemed.

Could Jodie herself have orchestrated the threat, and if so, what exactly is she trying to achieve?

]]> Emmerdale confirms return of classic rogue Steve Marchant after 27 years away from ITV soap https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-return-classic-rogue-steve-marchant-paul-opacic-newsupdate/ Mon, 02 Nov 2026 20:30:22 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-return-classic-rogue-steve-marchant-paul-opacic-newsupdate/ A huge return is on the horizon! This is not a drill - Paul Opacic is reprising his Steve Marchant role in Emmerdale after 27 years away.

The character originally appeared between 1996 and 1999, and was first introduced as the former university friend of Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) mother Rachel Hughes (Glenda McKay).

He and Kim Tate (Claire King) eventually got hitched, though their happy wedded life quickly began to fade. Facing financial troubles, Steve plotted to steal a horse from one of Kim's business rivals - though in doing so, struck Kathy Bates (Malandra Burrows) with his car and later tried to smother her in hospital.

Steve hoped that he could flee the country before the police caught up with him, though at the airport, he was arrested for theft and attempted murder.

He later discovered that Kim was trying to frame him for their conspiracy plan and a vicious feud emerged. At the trial, Steve pleaded guilty, though Kim was insistent that she played no part in the crimes. She then left the village in a helicopter the night before the verdict was delivered, and it was announced without her being there.

Steve Marchant wraps his arms around wife Kim c. 1997 in Emmerdale

She received a 12-month sentence, while he ended up being behind bars for 10 years.

In today's (2 November) episode, Steve's name was uttered for the first time in decades. DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) wanted answers about her biological paternity, and Kim revealed that her dad is none other than Steve.

Forthcoming scenes will see Thea attempt to track her father down, though with only his name as a clue, it could be a difficult search. She has no idea whether he even knows that she exists, given Kim gave her up for adoption following his imprisonment.

Posing as a solicitor, she attempts initial contact and he's drawn back to the village for answers. Can Steve build a relationship with his estranged daughter?

The ITV soap has confirmed that a romantic reunion with Kim is "out of the question", however.

Speaking of his epic return, Opacic said: "Things were left rather bitter between Kim and Steve, so he's very surprised when a solicitor contacts him out of the blue. He guesses something is afoot when Kim starts brandishing notes to keep him away.

Key art of Steve Marchant in Emmerdale

"With the sniff of more cash to be made, Steve wonders what is going on. And soon Thea leaves him a jaw-dropping voicemail."

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw added: "Determined to uncover the truth about her father, Thea devises a clever ruse to lure him into a meeting under false pretences.

"But will Steve fall for her deception, and does he even realise he has a child - or could he know secrets that even Kim isn't aware of?"

Consider us intrigued!

]]> Coronation Street airs devastation for Carla Connor-Swain after Idris Nazir's meddling in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-devastation-carla-connor-swain-idris-nazirs-meddling-itvx-newsupdate/ Mon, 02 Nov 2026 11:53:35 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-devastation-carla-connor-swain-idris-nazirs-meddling-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Monday's episode of Coronation Street, which airs at 8.30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) has no idea that Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) is on a mission to take over her business in Coronation Street.

Last week, the two bickered on the cobbles when he parked his car closely to hers. It seemed like an innocent interaction, though later, he asked girlfriend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) about Carla's factory Underworld.

The knicker manufacturers, which was established by the late Mike Baldwin in 1997, has been owned by Carla across various stints for much of the last two decades.

Leanne insisted that it was her baby and that she'd never part with it. But Idris couldn't help but wonder whether he might be able to change that...

In today's episode, Idris overheard Carla telling wife Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) that she had a crucial meeting at the Chariot Square Hotel and that she couldn't risk it going wrong.

Idris on the phone in Coronation Street

Fortunately, she didn't have anything to worry about. With manager Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell), the two sat down with the client, Philip, and things were going quite smoothly. It was clear that he was about to sign on the dotted line.

However, Idris was waiting in the sidelines to swoop in and catch him as he headed to the toilet. He warned Philip that Carla wasn't a trustworthy person, and that he'd regret going into business with her.

When Philip returned to the table, he announced to Carla and Michael that he was going to have to think about their offer and come back to them with a decision later. The pair were puzzled by his sudden change of heart and wondered what intervention had occurred.

Later, Carla broke the news to Michael that Philip had declined their deal and that Underworld's future was now hanging in the balance.

She then told Lisa that things weren't looking great, and as she was comforted, Idris watched on from across the cobbles with a smug grin wiped across his face.

Will Carla realise what Idris has done?

]]> Emmerdale airs Caleb Miligan betrayal as Sadie King twists the knife in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-caleb-miligan-betrayal-sadie-king-twists-knife-itvx-newsupdate/ Mon, 02 Nov 2026 07:30:07 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-caleb-miligan-betrayal-sadie-king-twists-knife-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Monday's episode of Emmerdale, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) has seemingly succeeded in seducing Emmerdale favourite Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

But what will this mean for his marriage to wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly)?

Conniving Sadie - not content with trying to ruin Nicola King's (Nicola Wheeler) life - stuck around the village to form an alliance with vengeful Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

He's been determined to bring Caleb and Ruby down, for their part in the series of events that led up to his late fiancée Dawn Fletcher's (Olivia Bromley) untimely demise.

Joe has taken on Sadie as his right-hand woman, and tasked her with finding information that could be beneficial to his plot. She eventually decided that trying to wreck their relationship would be beneficial, and knew that by moving in with the couple, she'd be able to succeed.

Ruby and Sadie in The Mill in a tense scene from Emmerdale

Over recent weeks, we've seen Sadie pull Ruby away from work to drink in The Woolpack, something which has begun to anger Caleb. But in today's episode, the scheme stepped up a gear.

At The Woolpack, and seeing Ruby's determination to stay on the wagon, Sadie became frustrated that her plans were being foiled. She soon began to grow desperate, and switched her own alcoholic drink for Ruby’s when she wasn't looking.

Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) had joined the women, and began to bemoan her lack of love life. Sadie offered to demonstrate her flirtation techniques, eyeing up Ross Barton (Michael Parr) across the room.

Sadie flirted relentlessly with him, eventually convincing him to join her for a dance. Ruby joined in playfully, but just as Caleb stepped through the door into the boozer, she was pushed towards Ross.

He was furious to see his wife acting so irresponsibly and enjoying another man's company and stormed out. Ruby suddenly realised that she was drunk, and was puzzled given not a drop of alcohol had supposedly crossed her lips all night.

Back at The Mill, Sadie decided to twist the knife further. She told an enraged Caleb that she'd seen Ruby leaving the pub with Ross, and that it was likely that they were going to spend the night together.

In retaliation, he decided that their marriage was over and - as we'll see this week, it'll be enough for him to succumb to her advances.

How will Caleb and Ruby react when they inevitably learn the truth?

]]> EastEnders airs horrific Craig Ingram twist for Amy Mitchell in early BBC iPlayer release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-airs-horrific-craig-ingram-twist-amy-mitchell-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Mon, 02 Nov 2026 06:30:58 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-airs-horrific-craig-ingram-twist-amy-mitchell-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Monday's episode of EastEnders, which airs at 7.30pm on BBC One or can be streamed now on BBC iPlayer. Amy Mitchell has discovered that the grass is not always greener on the other side in EastEnders.

The teen grew close to former copper Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey) amid her step-mum Denise Fox's (Diane Parish) battle with acute myeloid leukaemia battle. He discovered that she was the one who attacked Joel Marshall (Max Murray), and used these vulnerabilities to groom her.

A number of weeks ago, we discovered that Craig had been suspended from his job at Walford Police Station due to a previous complaint that had been lodged against him.

He later told Amy that he'd lost his job because they'd found out about his lies. Upon discovering nude photos of her ex-boyfriend Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) on her phone, having asked her to prove loyalty to their relationship by handing over her phone.

Craig blackmailed poor Denzel into handing over £1,000, but then decided to still send the pictures to his family.

Craig holds a phone in Amy's face in a scene from EastEnders

Next came a plan to flee Walford. Amy knew that she had £100,000 inheritance sitting in a bank account until she turned 21, and asked trustee Max Branning (Jake Wood) to help her retrieve it, under the pretence that she was using it for university.

He knew that she was lying, but given his own dire financial situation, agreed on the condition that she gave him half. Max then planned to divulge Amy's romance with Craig to her dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) - but before he could intervene, they left.

Amy and Craig have since moved into a grotty bedsit while Jack has launched a personal investigation to track them down. Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) agreed to help, though in today's episode, it became clear that they were beginning to harbour the police's search.

During a chat with Lily Slater (Lillia Turner), Sean discovered that Amy had used her daughter Charli's tablet to create a new bank account. This information was passed on to the police, though they wouldn't tell Jack whether or not the account would be closed.

Later that day, Craig told Amy that his contact had managed to get them fake ID to leave the country, though he needed to send over some cryptocurrency first. When he tried to access the bank account, he discovered that it had been frozen.

A mortified Amy tried to think of a backup plan, though Craig suddenly snapped and slapped her across the face.

Will Amy find a way to return to Walford?

]]> EastEnders favourite offers Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin fans hope amid fears of upcoming split https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-heather-peace-suki-eve-future-newsupdate/ Sat, 31 Oct 2026 22:01:24 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-heather-peace-suki-eve-future-newsupdate/ "My endgame." EastEnders star Heather Peace has teased some hope for her character Eve Panesar-Unwin’s relationship with Suki on the show amid fears of a break-up.

Fans were left worried for the couple – who tied the knot last year and became foster parents in 2026 – after a recent trailer showed Eve telling someone they "wouldn't know what love looked like if you had to pick it out of a police line-up", while Suki was shown smashing things up in anger in her kitchen.

However, Peace has now appeared to calm fans' fears in comments on a post on social media, sharing that she still believes the couple are "endgame" – though she did tease more "hurdles" for the pair.

Writing in the caption alongside a montage of photos of Eve and Suki over the years, she wrote on Instagram: “It was a little look on the dreaded bird app that told me that it’s been 5 years since Eve Unwin (now Panesar-Unwin) arrived on Albert Square. I don’t know where the time has gone but I’m feeling very blessed. I’m thankful for the friends I’ve made, the stories I’ve been a part of and the chance to be a part of something that now holds a special place in my heart so many years later."

She continued: "@bbceastenders is a special gig. To friends here now and to those who’ve moved on to pastures new…… what a blast we have/had. One fan wrote in the comments: "My endgame," to which Heather replied: "My endgame too. Always. But the hurdles are forever I fear."

Another fan said: "Here’s to another five years," to which Peace replied with a heart emoji.

And if that's not promising enough, Suki star Balvinder Sopal also commented on Peace's post, writing: "And WHAT a firece five years its been! Here's to MORE exhilarating years of Eve Panesar-Onion, Unwin!!!"

"Such a rollercoaster ahead for sure," Peace replied. "But then the simple stuff isn’t always as interesting right?!"

Eve and Suki’s love story on the show began in 2022 when the pair went from enemies to lovers over several months.

The couple have faced numerous obstacles in the years since, including opposition to their relationship from family members, temporary break-ups and hurdles in their adoption journey – but remain firm fan favourites.

]]> Emmerdale reveals DS Thea Ramsden's biological father in new spoilers as Kim Tate attempts to bond with her daughter https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-thea-ramsdens-biological-father-new-spoilers-kim-tate-bonds-daughter-newsupdate/ Sat, 31 Oct 2026 00:00:06 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-thea-ramsdens-biological-father-new-spoilers-kim-tate-bonds-daughter-newsupdate/ New spoilers for the episodes of Emmerdale airing between 2 and 5 November. It has finally been confirmed who DS Thea Ramsden's (Chelsea Edge) biological father is in new Emmerdale spoilers.

The copper arrived in the village earlier this year with a clear vendetta towards Kim Tate (Claire King). From trying to frame her for causing death by dangerous driving to reporting her to social services, it seemed that she would stop at nothing to bring the millionaire down.

A flashback scene then revealed that the driving force behind her resentment is because Kim is her birth mother, who gave her up for adoption in 1999.

The truth was revealed in explosive episodes that aired this week. During a scuffle at Home Farm, Kim accidentally stabbed Thea and rushed her to hospital. While looking at her drivers license, she took note of her full name - Anthea - and the connection was realised.

Thea confirmed that this was the motivation behind her recent actions, and the pair shared an emotional conversation about the last 27 years. Kim wanted to know whether her daughter had received a happy upbringing, and was saddened to hear that her adoptive mother had died sometime after Thea's seventh birthday.

In the aftermath, the already fractured bond between Thea and her adoptive father was forever tarnished.

Kim was left concerned that she would face the consequences of her actions when the police were summoned to investigate the stabbing. However, Thea lied, saying that she'd tried to intervene with poachers on the Home Farm Estate and they'd retaliated.

In forthcoming scenes, Thea concedes that the impression she first had of her mum isn't what has transpired. Although Kim wants to make amends and move forward, there's still a lot of water under the bridge and it will take time.

Thea then takes time to ask about her father, and during the difficult exchange, Kim blurts out that he's her ex-husband - Steve Marchant (Paul Opacic).

Steve Marchant wraps his arms around wife Kim c. 1997 in Emmerdale

Opacic originally appeared in Emmerdale between 1996 and 1999. The former university friend of Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) mother Rachel Hughes (Glenda McKay), Steve befriended Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell) and worked to form a business partnership with her brother Chris (Peter Amory) and their dad Frank (Norman Bowler).

After Frank's death, Steve grew closer to Kim and they were engaged, though he was hesitant to marry her.

Facing financial troubles after their eventual nuptials, Steve plotted to steal a horse from one of Kim's business rivals. In doing so, he struck Kathy Bates (Malandra Burrows) with his car and tried to smother her in hospital.

Kim hoped that by fleeing the country, he could evade justice for the crimes. However, at the airport, he was arrested for theft and attempted murder.

Steve later learnt that Kim was trying to frame him for their conspiracy plan and a vicious feud emerged. An explosive trial followed, with Steve pleading guilty, and Kim the opposite. She then left the village in a helicopter the night before the verdict was delivered, and it was announced without her being there.

She received a 12 month sentence, while he ended up being bars for 10 years.

As we now know, Kim stopped off at a hospital to give birth to Thea before leaving again with infant son Jamie - fearful that the police would soon catchup with her.

But will Thea look to track Steve down now that she knows the truth?

]]> EastEnders icon Rob Kazinsky teases "never-seen-before" storyline for his character Sean Slater with plot that "treads new ground" https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-rob-kazinsky-never-seen-before-sean-slater-storyline-treads-new-ground-exclusive-interview/ Fri, 30 Oct 2026 16:00:34 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-rob-kazinsky-never-seen-before-sean-slater-storyline-treads-new-ground-exclusive-interview/ Rob Kazinsky talks to Radio Times about his EastEnders return. Sean Slater has returned to Albert Square after a four year absence, and a fresh EastEnders plot that "treads new ground" for his character is on the horizon.

Actor Robert Kazinsky appeared in the BBC soap for just three years prior to his original departure in 2009, though the character remained a fan-favourite and made subsequent guest returns between 2019 and 2022.

This time, the comeback is permanent - and has been seven years in the making.

"It started in 2019 when [head of continuing drama] Kate Oates originally approached me about coming back for a block that involved Sean attempting to take his own life. I came back because I was marking 10 years of Sean leaving, and I really enjoyed it," Kazinsky tells Radio Times this morning, less than 24 hours since his return scenes aired.

"For the first time in a really long time, I felt like, 'Oh my god, I'm doing what I should be doing.' Working with Gillian [Wright] and Lacey [Turner] just felt so good."

He went on to detail how Oates stayed in touch with him, though because he was based in Los Angeles at the time, they were struggling to make further appearances possible.

"It just never was going to happen. I always said that if I was in town, I'd do something quick. And I did once. I happened to be around the corner, and called her the day before. They wrote a scene of Sean with Eve [Unwin] and Stacey [Slater], and when I went back to back home to LA, I did a FaceTime call for the show too.

"I was always trying to do what I could, and then four years ago I left America and I moved back here, and that's when the conversations really started. I sat down with Ben [Wadey, executive producer] and with Kate lots of times over those years, and we would develop some ideas, and we'd have some thoughts."

Robert Kazinsky returns as Sean Slater in EastEnders

Sean's timely arrival coincides with the disappearance of former stepdaughter Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), who has fled Walford with her groomer Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey).

But RT understands that there's something far bigger in the pipeline that will begin to play out within the coming months.

"I had to sit down with Ben, and we really fleshed out what we were going to be doing for the foreseeable," Kazinsky continued.

"Ben had this idea of a storyline that he's always wanted to do that has never been seen before with Sean, and that was a really big hook for me. The storyline will tread new ground for him, and hopefully help a lot of people. It's something completely new and brilliant, and that's what got me back."

Sean and Max face off with one another as Jack stands in the background in a scene from EastEnders

But what about those preexisting relationships that Sean has with his family, Jack (Scott Maslen) and Max Branning (Jake Wood)?

"Will the Brannings and Sean Slater ever see eye-to-eye?" Kazinsky seemed to ponder, before laughing: "Not a chance. It's never going to happen. Just there's too much history, and on top of that, there's nothing binding them. There's nothing they would ever have in common."

And could a romance be on the horizon? It is Sean, after all.

"Roxy was the love of his life, but he might have a thing," he explained.

Robert Kazinsky as Sean Slater and Rita Simons as Roxy Mitchell. Robert is holding up a piece of paper whilst Rita looks down at the table.

"He might break a heart here or there, but nobody will ever take Roxy's place. I think a lot of people find themselves in the same boat."

Kazinsky has one request to make for his character - to share the screen with sister Stacey (Turner) again. The actress is currently waltzing around the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, so while we may not see the siblings together for a while yet, there's definitely opportunity for their relationship to be explored.

"Even when we used to go out and party back in 2008, you couldn't get her off the dance floor then. I'm not expecting her to get off one now," he joked.

Pierre Counihan-Moullier smiles in a promo image as Oscar Branning for EastEnders.

"The Slaters feel like a real family, but it will never feel complete until we convince Lacey to come back and be a part of it. EastEnders can be a bit depressing for some characters - they always have something so sad to deal with. While Stacey Slater might get pooped on from a great height by every seagull, Lacey Turner is having a great time."

There's plenty of new characters for Sean to interact with too, with Kazinsky teasing that some comedy scenes are forthcoming.

"I've been having a really nice time with Stephen Aaron-Sipple. And some of the silliest things that you're going to see from Sean over the next few months all involve Pierre Counihan-Moullier who plays Oscar Branning.

"We both kind of been looking at each other, going, 'Oh, I see why people said that thing about him being Sean coded.' We approach the scripts in the same way. We've been having a really really good time working together, and I think Sean and Oscar will make people laugh a lot over the next few months."

]]> EastEnders icon Lacey Turner reveals how huge character death contributed to her exit from Stacey Slater role https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-lacey-turner-martin-fowler-death-contributed-exit-stacey-slater-newsupdate/ Fri, 30 Oct 2026 12:43:44 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-lacey-turner-martin-fowler-death-contributed-exit-stacey-slater-newsupdate/ The star departed in October 2025. Lacey Turner has revealed why she chose to leave EastEnders in her new autobiography Gold Dust.

The actress took a break from her Stacey Slater role, with the character heading off to Brazil with her children to work in brother Sean's (Robert Kazinsky) bar.

"It's the break that Stacey needs," Turner said in an interview with the BBC at the time. "She's been through so much and losing Martin has been so hard for her. Walking past his stall everyday is too much. Brazil seems far, but I guess that's what she needs."

The departure has allowed Turner to explore new projects – including a current stint in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom alongside professional dancer Vito Coppola.

Now, upon the release of Gold Dust: My Life (So Far) with the Women Who Shaped Me, she's detailed the reasoning behind her Albert Square exit and explains that it stemmed from news that co-star James Bye would be bowing out during the soap opera's 40th anniversary celebrations.

James Bye as Martin Fowler and Lacey Turner as Stacey Slater, holding each other's hands in rubble

Following an explosion at The Queen Victoria, his alter ego Martin Fowler died from crush syndrome.

In an excerpt from the audiobook of her life story, Turner reveals: “When bosses told me they were going to kill off Martin Fowler in the 40th anniversary episode in 2025, I needed Steve McFadden’s advice about making whatever is on the page work more than ever.

“It’s a decision I found hard to fathom, and to be completely honest, one I’m still not over. I kept on asking ‘why’, because it made no sense to me. Surely there was another way.”

“They’d made their minds up and it was no good," she continues, after added that she'd tried to explore other avenues with the drama's producers.

"He was to be crushed to death after an explosion in the Queen Vic."

Turner added that she only found out about Martin's death in advance because she'd fallen pregnant, and her due date was "scarily close" to the live episode that was planned to mark the milestone. She agreed to return just two weeks after giving birth.

“I promised them I’d be there, even if it was in my maternity dressing gown," she laughs.

"What I couldn’t be sure of was how Stacey would survive in Walford without Martin.

"And I didn’t know how I’d survive there without James. I started to wonder if now might be the right time for me to step away too.

Lacey Turner wearing a red blouse in key art for EastEnders

“I was about to have a baby, James was going, and Natalie Cassidy was also leaving.”

She adds: “The more I thought about it, the more I realised I needed some real time out and I loved the idea of taking my foot off the gas and being with my family for a while. So I told them I wanted to go too.”

“As promised I made it back for the live episode just four weeks after giving birth and then stayed on to shoot Stacey’s mental health decline."

But will Stacey ever return? There's certainly the option now that Sean has come back from Brazil.

"I miss Stacey of course I do, but she was tired and she needed a break. And I did as well," Turner comments.

“She’d run out of things to go through. There’s only so much s**t one person can suffer before you think it’s time to stop. I don’t know what the future holds… I hope it’s not the end for Stacey.”

]]> Coronation Street airs major Christina Boyd blunder as the truth about Rachel Parkinson is exposed in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-major-christina-boyd-blunder-truth-rachel-parkinson-exposed-itvx-newsupdate/ Fri, 30 Oct 2026 07:30:44 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-major-christina-boyd-blunder-truth-rachel-parkinson-exposed-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Friday's episode of Coronation Street, which airs at 8.30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) has made an almighty mistake in tonight's (30 October) Coronation Street.

The beloved character has had a difficult few months, after learning that her firstborn daughter Rachel Parkinson had been brutally murdered by her husband Richie (Nathan Sussex), and that the couple's daughter Lucy (Anya Dewin) - the granddaughter that Christina never knew about - was living across the road from her.

Teenage Lucy is incredibly troubled. In a cryptic conversation with her dad, she seemed to imply that she could've been responsible for her mum's death and that he took the rap.

When her foster mother Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) found out about the connection with Christina, she made her promise not to say anything for fear of upsetting the apple cart.

However, in the latest instalment, everything changed after a completely innocent mistake.

Christina was staring at the photo of Rachel that was gifted to her by partner George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), and expressed the feeling that she'd failed her daughter by allowing Lucy to be moved into a respite home due to problems with the Metcalfes.

George reassured her that the situation was out of her hands, and that Lucy was being cared for.

Later, by complete coincidence, Christina ran into her granddaughter at the precinct. Lucy was watching videos of her family, with one showing Richie whispering into Rachel's ear and clearly making her look uncomfortable.

Horrified by what she saw, Christina rushed off and dropped the keyring that contains the photo of Rachel on the floor. Intrigued, Lucy picked it up and then fired in her direction, desperate to know why she was in possession of a picture of her mum.

Inside the undertakers, Christina was forced to open up to the youngster and admit that she's her grandmother. She said that the adoption has haunted her for over three decades, and that she had no idea that Lucy existed.

When Sally and husband Tim (Joe Duttine) approached, Lucy darted off and Christina burst into tears. After tearing strips off Sally for being a bad foster parent, she made it clear that she intended to find out the truth about Rachel's death.

Although Richie has insinuated that he acted in self-defence, that footage proved to her that he was the abusive one.

Will Christina be able to clear Richie's name, and what repercussions will this have for Christina?

]]> Emmerdale airs surprise and unannounced return of legendary character eight months after exit in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-surprise-unannounced-return-victoria-sugden-isabel-hodgins-itvx-newsupdate/ Fri, 30 Oct 2026 07:30:19 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-surprise-unannounced-return-victoria-sugden-isabel-hodgins-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains major spoilers for Friday's episode of Emmerdale, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Isabel Hodgins has reprised her Victoria Sugden role after eight months in a brief Emmerdale cameo.

Earlier this year, in a storyline that facilitated Hodgins's maternity leave, Vic left for a new life in Portugal. She was troubled after killing her own brother John (Oliver Farnworth) and came to the realisation that – although his death was ruled as suicide – life wouldn't ever be the same again for her.

To make matters worse, devious Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) held footage of the death and was blackmailing her brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) into planting evidence at Butler's Farm that framed Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) for modern slavery and double murder.

If he didn't comply, the incriminating video would be sent to the police. Joe also wanted the Sugdens' half of the farm, effectively pushing Robert into a point of no return.

Eventually, Joe came to a compromise. If she sold her half of the farm, she'd have enough money to flee and start afresh with her son Harry.

Emmerdale's Victoria Sugden, wearing a green t-shirt and stood against a blue background

A lot has happened for the Sugden clan since then. Joe took control of Butler's and installed Robert as the tenant farmer, which was somewhat of a reward for his underhand behaviour.

Robert was overjoyed, given half of the land once belonged to the long-demolished farmhouse that his family resided in for decades. To mark the throwback, he even renamed the property and business as Emmerdale Farm.

In the last month, he's also acquired the former Hide Bistro, and now intends to transform the eatery and cook produce using meat he's farmed and vegetables that have been grown.

Aaron, Sarah and Robert in a scene from Emmerdale

In today's episode, Robert told fiancé Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and niece Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) that he wanted to get in touch with Vic and invite her back to the village to be part of his exciting news plans. She has experience of being a chef, and would be great for the reinvented Hide.

Later in the day, he dialled through to Portugal for a brief video call. Victoria said that it sounded exciting, though she was now settled on the other side of Europe and with everything that had happened, she couldn't see herself living in Yorkshire again.

Robert was naturally disappointed, and when Aaron chipped in, she reaffirmed her desire to stay away.

Will Victoria ever change her mind?

]]> 14 EastEnders questions we have after dramatic new trailer - from Christmas chaos to Suki and Eve heartbreak and Janine return https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-questions-trailer-christmas-late-2026-max-branning-janine-butcher-newsupdate/ Thu, 29 Oct 2026 09:13:56 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-questions-trailer-christmas-late-2026-max-branning-janine-butcher-newsupdate/ A dramatic new trailer has been unveiled for the BBC One soap. Wow! Pause for breath, EastEnders fans.

The BBC One soap has unveiled an epic new trailer highlighting some of the drama and comedy we can expect over the next few weeks in the run-up to Christmas on Albert Square.

Unsurprisingly, as we build to the events of New Year's Day, a lot of the drama revolves around Max Branning (Jake Wood) as his list of enemies begins to pile up.

Elsewhere, there is heartache for Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Panesar-Uwnin (Heather Peace), a big decision for Denise Fox (Diane Parish), a Christmas clash for the Hawkins family, and some Carter family upset that may or may not be linked to the finally-confirmed return of Janine Carter (Charlie Brooks).

Watch the trailer at the top of the page.

However, of course, it leaves us with many questions.

14 EastEnders questions we have after the dramatic new trailer

1. Is Kat Moon ready to kill Max Branning?

Jessie Wallace in close-up as an angry Kat Moon in EastEnders.

The last few weeks have been full of the heartache felt by Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) as she mourns her daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) but has been thirsty for revenge against the man who she thinks wilfully left Zoe to die.

Of course, the last person we know who saw Zoe alive was Max himself, but he believed she was drunk and refused to help her, later being tormented with guilt after her death.

Kat wants the man who Zoe said on a call to 999 "left her" and has sworn loving husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) to eventually kill the man.

Here, during the festive season, Kat coldly states that she wants "him" dead. Does she know the truth about Max?

2. Will Sean Slater be the one to stop Craig Ingram?

Rob Kazisnky as Sean Slater faces Jake Wood as Max Branning in EastEnders.

We know that Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) is back to bring his own special brand of chaos and join the hunt to find Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and her abuser, Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey).

Sean can be seen in a confrontation with Max, reminding Max of the occasion in 2008 when Sean and Max's then-estranged wife Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) buried him alive in Epping Forest as revenge for his affair with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

Later, we see Sean finally confront Craig himself and warn him that he is his "conscience".

Amy later appears reunited with stepmother Denise Fox (Diane Parish) in the trailer, so what has happened to Craig?

3. Will Jack Branning cut ties with his brother?

Scott Maslen as Jack Branning shouting as Jake Wood as Max Branning in EastEnders.

Another confirmation from the trailer is that Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) will discover that Max took money from Amy after discovering the truth about her and Craig.

In the flashforward episode from January, we knew that Jack would fall out with Max once again.

Is this the end for their strong brotherly relationship?

4. Why are the Hawkins imploding at Christmas, and is this how Nicola Mitchell gets her injury?

Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) falls down the stairs of No 1 at night with someone present in EastEnders.

It appears we know at least one of the major Christmas storylines, as the Hawkins clan are sat around for dinner with an upset Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) facing off with her scheming brother-in-law Ned Hawkins (Jamie Bamber).

Nicola is seen crying and referring to everyone now knowing in time for Christmas. Has Ned exposed Nicola's involvement in her late abusive father's death?

That's not all, either, as it appears Nicola and usually placid sister Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) end up in a brawl and it looks like Nicola takes a tumble down the stairs of Number 1.

Is this why Nicola's ankle is in a cast on New Year's Day 2027?

5. Is this the end of Sukeve?

Balvinder Sopal as a devastated Suki Panesar-Unwin in EastEnders.

One storyline with little context is a heartbroken-looking Suki standing on the Square at night; before, in their house, we see Eve boldly proclaim to someone they "wouldn't know what love looked like if you had to pick it out of a police line-up".

Later in the trailer, we can see an upset Suki smashing things up in her kitchen at home.

Has something ruined the couple's plans for adoption? Does it relate to Suki's strained relationship with recently returned daughter Dr Ash Panesar (Sakira Vel)?

We'll have to wait and see, along with whether the popular Sukeve pairing will survive...

6. Will Denise Fox really stop treatment?

Diane Parish as Denise Fox in a headscarf with her head resting on Ellie Dadd as Amy Mitchell in EastEnders.

As Denise continues her treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia, we have seen her at low points consider stopping her treatment to make the most of her time before she dies.

However, she has consistently resolved previously to carry on, but it appears as Christmas approaches that Denise may have revised this idea.

With shocked looks from beloved family members such as daughter Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) and sister Kim Fox-Danes (Tameka Empson) in the trailer, can she be persuaded otherwise?

7. What is driving Linda Carter to potentially relapse?

Kellie Bright as Linda Carter holding a bottle.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) may be due to depart Walford in 2027, but she's having no shortage of drama in the meantime, with her controversial romance with Max and also upsetting times with her children, not least Lee Carter (Danny Hatchard), who is now struggling with alcoholism as she has before.

However, later in the trailer, we see Linda nursing a glass bottle, with her voice heard saying, "If you can't beat 'em, self-destruct with them!"

Is Linda really about to relapse into alcoholism again when last time it nearly killed her?

8. Will Ian Beale and Elaine Peacock become a couple?

Adam Woodyatt as Ian Beale kisses Harriet Thorpe as Elaine Peacock near fireworks in EastEnders.

Their flirtation and chemistry have lasted all of 2026 so far, but we finally see former rivals Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) sharing a romantic kiss.

The pair have previously had casual hook-ups but have never pursued a relationship, but this loving and apparently public kiss here may see that change.

Could Elaine be the next Mrs Beale?

9. Will Lauren Beale and Mark Fowler be caught again?

Ned Hawkins knows about the affair between hypocritical Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa) and Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple).

The pair have been carrying on their affair in secret, behind the back of Lauren's husband and Mark's relative, Peter Beale (Thomas Law).

However, as the pair share another passionate kiss, is someone about to see them?

10. Who is Sharon Watts facing off with?

Letitia Dean as Sharon Watts and Steve McFadden as Phil Mitchell face a foe in EastEnders.

It's been so good having Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) back in Walford, but it appears that she is set to clash with someone in the coming weeks.

A firm Sharon says: "I ain't scared of you, darlin'."

So, just who exactly is Sharon clashing with this winter? We'll have to get guessing...

11. Why is Ravi Gulati hitting Max Branning now?

Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) has been more peaceful than perhaps expected since the departure of true love Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), who is pregnant with Max's child.

However, it seems Ravi's fury will be unleashed once again as we see him yelling at Max to stop talking and punching him in the Gulati flat.

Has Max discovered the truth about Priya's pregnancy, and is he causing trouble? Could this drive Ravi to further revenge?

12. Is Penny Branning’s secret about to be exposed?

Kitty Castledine as a guilty-looking Penny Branning in EastEnders.

We know that Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) is concealing that her partner Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) may not be the biological father of her baby, Ethan Branning-Panesar.

However, the trailer sees Vinny propose to Penny in a public setting, but Penny appears guilty and upset.

This is followed by shots of a shocked-looking Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and then Gina's boyfriend Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) smashing glass on the street, looking distressed.

Fans know that Penny believes Harry is most likely to be Ethan's father – has the truth finally come out?

13. Is Cindy Beale working with the New Year’s Day gunman?

Michelle Collins as Cindy Beale in EastEnders looks gloomy.

Of course, the person most furious with Max in recent weeks has been his abandoned bride, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), devastated that he dumped her, then had an affair with Priya, then started a new romance with Linda.

We see a gun unveiled in the trailer, followed by shots of Cindy. Does this confirm her as the architect of Max's downfall on New Year's Day?

14. What brings Janine Carter back to the show, and is it related to Mick’s death certificate?

A death certificate dated to 29 October in EastEnders.

Finally, the BBC has confirmed that Charlie Brooks is reprising her role as Janine Carter (née Butcher) in the coming weeks.

We don't know what exactly brings Janine back into the lives of our favourite characters, but given Linda is seen looking at a certificate of birth or death in the trailer, could this relate to the changing official deceased status of the 'late' Mick Carter (Danny Dyer)?

Either way, it seems Janine's return is Carter-related, but that iconic smirk of hers does not bode well...

]]> Emmerdale airs emotional Kim Tate and Thea Ramsden scenes as their secret is revealed in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-emotional-kimn-tate-thea-ramsden-secret-revealed-itvx-newsupdate/ Thu, 29 Oct 2026 07:30:51 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/emmerdale-emotional-kimn-tate-thea-ramsden-secret-revealed-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Thursday's episode of Emmerdale, which airs at 8pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. The scales have fallen from Kim Tate's (Claire King) eyes in Emmerdale after making the realisation that DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) is her daughter.

Last month, viewers became privy to the secret during a flashback scene that showed a younger Kim - achieved through archive footage - walking down a maternity ward and gazing at a newborn baby. Posters on the walls and contemporary technology revealed that the year was 1999.

That child would grow up to be the future DS Ramsden, who has spent months tormenting her biological mother and resenting her adoption.

It all kicked off when Kim fell victim to a bizarre home intrusion. Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) snuck into Home Farm and stole a USB stick, which contained pictures of the Tate family.

It later transpired that Serena had been acting under instruction of her best pal Thea, who wanted dirt on the Tates.

With Serena covering up the circumstances surrounding Dr Caitlin Todd's (Caroline Harker) death, Ramsden made a deal. She said she'd help with the Todd case if her mate kept to her deal regarding Kim.

More recently, Thea tried to frame her mother for causing the deaths of Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) and Jimmy King (Nick Miles), and reported her to social services for selling Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) child. What Thea didn't realise was that the baby was actually living in a remote cottage with Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) until Joe could accept being a father.

To Kim and Graham's horror, the baby was kidnapped on Sunday. The person responsible insisted that the police weren't involved, though Kim turned to Thea for help when she unexpectedly turned up on her doorstep.

Before long, Kim became convinced that Thea was the culprit - unaware that Graham had found Joe holding the child. She desperately tried to outrun the copper, and during their scuffle, Thea was stabbed.

In today's episode, Kim guided her into the hospital and announced to the nearby staff that she needed immediate medical treatment. She couldn't help but worry when the nurse said the police would have to be called.

Fortunately, Thea survived. She was asleep in a side ward when Kim entered the room and sat down beside her. She took a look at her drivers license and discovered that her full name is "Anthea". This was the moment in which Kim realised that she'd likely just injured her own daughter.

When Thea's eyes opened, she saw Kim standing over her. Now was the time to come clean.

Mother and daughter shared an emotional exchange, talking about how their lives had been since they were last together 27 years ago. Kim said she'd tried to block the incident from her mind, and that the only reason she'd given Thea up for adoption was because she was on the run.

If she'd taken Thea and elder son Jamie with her, there was a chance she'd lose them both.

Kim recalled the moment that she handed Thea over to her adoptive mother, saying that it was immediately evident that she was in the right hands.

Although Thea agreed, she also spoke about how her adoptive father had never shown a paternal instinct, and that when her mum died shortly after her 7th birthday, he clearly resented her.

Later, when Serena arrived to check on her mate, Thea said she was having doubts about reporting Kim for the stabbing and that she felt like there had been a breakthrough. Although there was a lot of water under the bridge, this could be a way of moving forward.

Will Kim and Thea ever see eye to eye?

]]> Coronation Street airs major turning point in Lucy Parkinson story in early ITVX release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-major-turning-point-lucy-parkinson-story-itvx-newsupdate/ Thu, 29 Oct 2026 07:30:12 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/coronation-street-major-turning-point-lucy-parkinson-story-itvx-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Thursday's episode of Coronation Street, which airs at 8.30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed now on ITVX. Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) has faced questioning from social services in Coronation Street.

It comes after she whacked foster daughter Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin) over the head with a vase, believing she was an escaped prisoner dressed up as a ghost. Yes, that really happened.

Sally's other foster daughter Joanie Michaelis (Savanna Pennington) had read an article online about a riot at her dad Mick's (Joe Layton) prison, and given he'd managed to escape before, wondered whether he might be successful again.

Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) shut down the youngster's concerns and whisked her, alongside Lucy, off to the Rovers' Halloween bash. Sally, meanwhile, stayed at home and became fearful that she was being tormented.

Someone dressed as a ghost appeared at the window, and suddenly the landline began to ring. When Sally answered, there was nobody on the other side of the phone.

When she turned around, Lucy appeared in her costume, and was attacked. Tim raced over as his cousin's daughter insisted that his wife had purposely assaulted her.

In today's episode, the Metcalfes received a surprise knock at the door. It was Ruth (Amy Drake), the social worker, and she explained that Lucy had left her a voicemail during the night and wanted to discuss a journal she'd collated.

The book contained drawings of Sally looking angry, and accusations of nasty and controlling behaviour.

Ruth assured the couple that they weren't in trouble, though wondered whether they were taking too much on with both Lucy and the Michaelis children. As a result, she wanted the teen to go and stay in a respite home for a number of days until things settled down.

Despite her earlier victorious look towards Sally, Lucy wasn't happy.

Outside on Maxine Peacock's memorial bench, she spoke with Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) about her current predicament and how Sally hit her. Although Lucy is unaware, viewers know that Christina is her grandmother.

Later, Christina returned home and told partner George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) that she isn't satisfied with the care that Sally is providing. She wanted to challenge Sally about the attack, and couldn't believe when the Metcalfes revealed that Lucy was no longer living on the cobbles.

After a furious argument, Sally broke down in Tim's arms.

When will Lucy return to No. 4, and will Christina try and seek to look after her?

]]> EastEnders airs huge Max Branning lie to Linda Carter before major character returns 20 years after debut in early BBC iPlayer release https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-max-branning-lie-linda-carter-sean-slater-returns-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Thu, 29 Oct 2026 06:30:43 GMT https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-max-branning-lie-linda-carter-sean-slater-returns-bbc-iplayer-newsupdate/ Warning: Contains spoilers for Thursday's episode of EastEnders, which airs at 7.30pm on BBC One or can be streamed now on BBC iPlayer. Max Branning (Jake Wood) has told a mammoth lie to Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders, with some serious foreshadowing to the pay-off of his January flash-forward episode.

A familiar face has also rolled into Albert Square after 4 years away...

The episode picked up straight from yesterday's doof doof, where Lee Carter (Danny Hatchard) had just drunkenly revealed his mum's relationship with Max to the Queen Vic punters at Zoe Slater's wake.

Despite attempts to shut down Lee's claims, Max's estranged wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) refused to believe the couple and delivered a hellish slap to Linda. She then stormed out of the boozer and tried to come to terms with the news at the caff.

Knowing that he was also the person present just moments before Zoe passed away - and therefore the mystery fella that Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) was attempting to track down - she decided to wreak havoc and get revenge.

Charging over to Peacock Palace with a bottle of wine under her arm, she told Linda about Max's other secret. Max insisted that his new partner knew, though by the time Cindy left, it was clear that Linda was having doubts about his honesty.

He swore to her - on his, and his children's lives - that he wasn't there. Linda seemed to believe him, but could these words prove to be the catalyst for what awaits him on New Year's Day?

As we know, a mystery gunman will track down his daughter Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa) and son Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) and aim a weapon at them. Max will then be given the ultimatum of which child he chooses to survive.

Elsewhere in Walford, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was saddened to realise that his missing daughter Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) had tried to contact him. She's run off with much older boyfriend Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey), who has been grooming the teen for months.

When Craig realised that Amy had been in touch with her father, he furiously threw her phone out of the car window and sped off into the distance.

Later, police officers arrived at the Branning residence with a teddy bear that Amy's step-mum Denise Fox (Diane Parish) had gifted her earlier in the year.

Believing that he'd lost his daughter forever, a gloomy Jack stood in the Square Gardens and noticed a taxi pulling up. Out stepped a familiar face - Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky), who is back earlier than anticipated.

The men sat down on a bench and, given Sean was Amy's former step-dad, he vowed to track down Craig and kill him.

Will Sean and Jack be successful?
