Sean's return to Walford brings little relief for the Branning-Mitchell family as the desperate search for Amy continues. Having spent the night scouring the area alongside Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Sean finds himself at loggerheads with his former brother-in-law.
His estrangement from his family takes another hit when Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) spots her uncle and angrily questions why he failed to acknowledge her.
Later, Sean and Jack fill the family in on their efforts to locate Amy, but tensions soon flare again. The pair disagree over Max's decision to give Amy her inheritance early, and their differences spill over into a confrontation with him.

Sean then heads to The Vic to catch up with his family, where Lily arrives with a potentially crucial breakthrough. She reveals that Amy used her daughter Charli’s tablet to open an online bank account, prompting the family to pass the information on to the police.
Meanwhile, Amy is hiding out in a bedsit with Craig, but her unease around him is becoming increasingly apparent. Craig claims to have arranged somewhere for them to stay abroad, only for his plans to unravel when he discovers that Amy’s bank account has been frozen. Furious, he turns violent and hits her.

As the family continue to fear for Amy’s safety, Sean comes up with a new plan to bring her home. Could an emotional video appeal from unwell Denise Fox (Diane Parish) be enough to persuade Amy to return home?
2. Cindy Beale continues to clash with Max Branning

Cindy's day gets off to a promising start when she enjoys breakfast with children Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and Peter Beale (Thomas Law), but her good mood doesn’t last long. The arrival of Max, accompanied by Linda, quickly puts her on edge.
Unwilling to let her frustrations slide, Cindy takes matters into her own hands, setting the stage for another fiery confrontation. The pair’s simmering animosity eventually boils over in The Vic, where neither appears willing to back down.
With tensions threatening to get the better of her, Cindy later turns to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) for a heart-to-heart. But will talking things through help her get a handle on the resentment towards Max, or is another clash inevitable?
3. Gemma Hawkins acquaints herself with the Walford women

Gemma is determined to find her feet in Walford, but building new friendships proves easier said than done. Hoping to break the ice, she meets Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) for a drink at The Albert, and the two plan to start a book club.
The idea offers Gemma a chance to connect with more of the locals, and Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) steps in to help her sister make it happen. She rallies Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and the other women, encouraging them to join the new group.
4. Ian Beale attempts to reconnect with Elaine Peacock at his Bonfire Night celebrations

Ian is inspired to organise a Bonfire Night celebration after receiving some advice from Ned Hawkins (Jamie Bamber). Keen to get things moving, Ned also helps son Ryder secure a job with Ian, giving the event an extra pair of hands.
However, the plans quickly run into trouble when it emerges that Ryder’s fireworks are out of date and can't be used. With the celebrations in jeopardy, Ian threatens to pull the plug on the whole event before deciding to approach Elaine for help.
Unfortunately, his request for some of her fireworks is met with a misunderstanding. Convinced that he is asking her on a date, Elaine refuses to hand them over, determined to save face.

With the celebrations hanging in the balance, Ryder and Oscar take matters into their own hands and join forces to steal Elaine’s explosives. Their actions only add to the chaos, leaving Ian and Elaine embroiled in another heated argument.
As she launches into a furious tirade, he makes a surprising move that brings the confrontation to an abrupt halt: a kiss!
Will the unexpected moment reignite old feelings between the pair, or has Ian just made an already complicated situation even messier?
5. The Carter family struggle with Lee's addiction

Linda's fears about Lee’s drinking continue to grow, and she decides it is time to take a firmer approach. Challenging him to stay sober for an entire week, she hopes the ultimatum will finally make her son confront his behaviour.
Later, Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) opens up to her mum about feeling overwhelmed, and the pair lean on one another. When Linda agrees to accompany Nancy to her antenatal class instead of Lee, however, the decision leaves him feeling excluded.
Struggling with his emotions, Lee turns to alcohol and arrives at the class drunk, causing a scene that threatens to derail the appointment. Max attempts to intervene and calm the situation between the trio, but his efforts backfire when Linda tells him to stop interfering in the family’s affairs.

Determined to make his point, Max later approaches Nancy to discuss the argument. But when he begins criticising Lee, she makes it clear that she does not want him involving himself in their family business either.
With his attempts to help repeatedly rebuffed, Max turns to daughter Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa) for a sympathetic ear. He soon makes a bold vow to insert himself into Linda’s family, suggesting that he has no intention of stepping aside just yet.
Meanwhile, the Carters attempt to put their earlier disagreements behind them and call a truce. But with Lee’s drinking continuing to cause concern and Max refusing to keep his distance, how long can the fragile peace last?
