Emmerdale boss teases killer cover-up story for Robert and Victoria Sugden after John's brutal death
Laura Shaw reveals all on the next twist in the storyline.

Warning: Contains spoilers for today's episode of Emmerdale which airs on ITV1 at 8pm or can be streamed now on ITVX.
Series producer Laura Shaw has revealed more on an intriguing twist following the murder of John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
The closing scenes of the soap's highly-anticipated crossover with Coronation Street revealed that the villain had been killed by his own sister Vic (Isabel Hodgins), with yesterday's episode explaining how it happened.
Following a multi-vehicle pile-up, he attempted to go on the run again and had tried to silence her, but during their scuffle, she drove a syringe into his neck.
Little did she realise, in the woodland, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was watching from afar and recording her wiping the evidence from the weapon, to make it look like John had taken his own life.

“The truth about John's death will be revealed, as Victoria's clever deception, making John's death look like suicide, will unravel," Shaw explains.
"Evil Joe Tate knows the truth and has damning video evidence which he plans to use to get what he wants from the Sugdens, potentially taking control of Butler's Farm."

She also teased that her brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) could try to cover her tracks.
"Robert is also in the thick of it, trying to save Victoria by planting evidence."
In today's episode, the family feared that it would only be a matter of time before the police came knocking on her door and arrested her for the crime.
Vic was stunned to learn that Joe had only offered to take Robert to the crash site on the promise that he could take control of her share of Butler's. Joe then showed her the video, and is now planning to use it as a blackmail device.

She only had two options – either hand over the farm for free, or he'd go to the police.
Later, Joe revealed to Robert that he was planning to frame Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) for Celia Daniels's (Jaye Griffiths) human trafficking option, and he wanted to help him get total control of the land.
Will Robert go through with it?
