Coronation Street’s Lou Michaelis exits once again as prison storyline for Debbie Webster ends
Another fan-favourite leaves.

Another favourite has left the Coronation Street cobbles.
A dramatic prison scene sparked the end of Lou Michaelis' (Farrel Hegarty) second stint in the ITV soap, 13 months since her first appearance.
The character was introduced alongside husband Mick (Joe Layton), as the nightmare neighbours who moved into Mawdsley Street, across the ginnel from Chesney and Gemma Winter-Brown (Sam Aston and Dolly-Rose Campbell).
After ruffling feathers with the Weatherfield residents, Lou was sent down for attacking Gary Windass (Mikey North), who she developed an obsession with. Meanwhile, Mick ended up behind bars for brutally killing PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) with a baseball bat.
Hegarty reprised her role for a brief stint earlier this year, after Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) found herself imprisoned for causing death by dangerous driving.

Debbie had pleaded guilty to causing a multi-vehicle pile-up (which was seen during the Corrie crossover episode with Emmerdale, Corriedale), in a bid to protect her son Carl (Jonathan Howard). At the time, he was unsure why she would want to take the rap for his crimes, still under the impression that she was his sister.
When he discovered that she had lied for almost 40 years about being his birth mother, he swore to make her live out the rest of her days at His Majesty's pleasure.

Debbie managed to make an unlikely ally in cellmate Lou, who has been seen to contact her former sister-in-law, Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), to discuss her declining cognitive ability amid her young-onset dementia diagnosis.
Earlier this week, Lou found Debbie in a state of distress. The journal that she uses to ensure she doesn't forget anything had gone missing, and they became convinced that an officer had taken it.

Debbie made a scene, and Lou worried that it would have an impact on her forthcoming plea hearing. Thinking on her feet, she quickly started a fight with top dog Paula (Kelli Hollis), and was subsequently sent to solitary confinement.
Debbie was riddled with guilt, and even more so when she found the journal in her cell.
This episode marked the end of Lou's time in Corrie, but could we see her again one day?
