From season 4 confirms unexpected character return in chilling new trailer
Jim Matthews, is that you?!

From season 4 is on its way and is already surprising us, with a very dramatic and unexpected return now confirmed in the new trailer.
Fans have officially been treated to the first footage of season 4, which shows Harold Perrineau's Boyd Stevens and co facing more nightmarish horrors in the town that never lets them leave.
But eagle-eyed viewers couldn't help but notice a brief appearance from Eion Bailey's Jim Matthews - who, by all accounts, died a horrific death last season.
In the trailer, Jim's son Ethan is shown running up to his father and throwing his arms around him - so, either Jim has survived, this is a flashback, or Jim appears this season as a ghost or a spectre. Stranger things have certainly happened in Fromville!

As a reminder, the season 3 finale showed Jim's death at the hands of the newly introduced Man in Yellow, as a result of Tabitha and Jade's discovery about who they really are (reincarnated versions of Miranda and Christopher).
Safe to say, we certainly didn't expect to see him back.
The trailer also teases an even darker side to Boyd, and the return of the dreaded Man in Yellow.
Season 3 has proven once and for all that the show won't hold back when it comes to killing its darlings - who might be next this time around?

Perrineau previously opened up to Radio Times about the questions he still needs answering after the season 3 finale, saying: "We've lost a lot of people this season alone. The town wants to break Boyd, Jade keeps having encounters with all sorts of people, Tabitha may or may not have been here before, we don't know.
"I want to know where we are and why we're here, and who's connected to this place.
"So I'm really curious about who's connected to this place, why they're connected, and how it's going to help us or hurt us. That's going to be really, really interesting for me."
Not long to wait now!
From season 4 will arrive in the US on 19 April. From seasons 1-3 are available to stream on NOW.
