It's hard to believe that the late, great Akira Toriyama and Toei Animation first brought Dragon Ball Super to fans worldwide 10 years ago, in 2015.

It ended on a triumphant battle between Goku, Frieza and 17, and while some are content to let it go out on a high, others have been wondering what comes next for the series.

The most recent entry in the Dragon Ball Super series is a one-shot chapter that serves as a prequel to the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

It released in February 2025, and followed characters Goten, Trunks and Clean God. As the one-shot suggests, it was only a brief chapter, but it at least let us see more about what makes these characters (and the series) special.

Speculation over whether Dragon Ball Super season 2 could be announced grew largely on the basis of it being revealed after Dragon Ball: DAIMA concluded.

DAIMA came to an end in February 2025, and since then, no announcement has been made about a potential season 2 for either Super or DAIMA.

But is that the end of Dragon Ball Super? Perhaps not. Here's everything you need to know about Dragon Ball Super season 2 below.

Will there be a Dragon Ball Super season 2?

According to staff, apparently so. A member of Toei Animation Philippines, Florence Jay Dominguito, spoke about the future of Super in an interview for the official Dragon Ball website.

"As a fan, I'm really looking forward to new movies and merchandise. I'm also excited about the new anime that will continue Dragon Ball Super," they admitted.

However, some people have noted that there may have been a slight error in translation, like Japanese translator Ken Xyro did on Twitter (now X).

What Dominguito actually said was, "I'm also excited to see if there will be a new continuation of Dragon Ball Super' TV anime."

In the meantime, if you want to catch up on previous series and get excited about the upcoming DAIMA series, check out the watch order now.
