The Traitors’ Fiona reveals moment Claudia Winkleman chose her to be the secret Traitor
"I just had enormous fun."

The Traitors kicked the new year off in spectacular fashion, not just for launching yet another stellar new series but also for the introduction of a twist that certainly paid off.
The launch episode, which has already been watched by over 12.1 million viewers and continues to grow, saw Claudia Winkleman introduce a secret Traitor.
This new role meant that one player had more power than ever in the game, with their identity being a secret from the other Traitors and viewers tuning in at home. This was until Hugo was banished from the castle and the secret Traitor made their debut in the turret.
And that secret Traitor was none other than Fiona! Fiona has since gone down as a rather iconic character in The Traitors and she has lifted the lid on the very moment Winkleman gave her the red cloak...
Speaking exclusively at the Radio Times Covers Party 2026, Fiona shared that the moment she was chosen was "absolutely magical".
"All the endorphins and nerve endings in my body just exploded," she told RadioTimes.com. "And I didn't know what to expect what my role was going to be. But I just had enormous fun and that's how I played the game."
Fiona made quite her mark in the castle after an outburst led to her declaring war on her fellow Traitors, as she told the group she believed that Rachel was a Traitor, after thinking Rachel had lied about a piece of information Amanda had told her in confidence.
Though this ultimately backfired, as the castle all sided with Rachel and were sure that Fiona was a Traitor. As a result, she was banished from the castle and the Faithful subsequently got rid of a conspiring Traitor.
But that hasn't dimmed the light on her time on the show, as Fiona said: "It's been wonderful. People have been so generous and kind, and it's been a pleasure when they've come up and asked for selfies, and it's just joyous."
