The fifth instalment of the series, which follows three best friends from South Carolina as they navigate the ups and downs of life, is set to premiere on Netflix on 11th June 2026.

Alongside the release date announcement news, the streamer revealed a first-look image (above) at Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), and Helen (Heather Headley) in action in New York’s Central Park.

The location won’t come as a surprise to fans who tuned into season 4’s dramatic cliffhanger ending, which saw Maddie offered a publishing job in New York.

“We are thrilled to let the Magnolias take Manhattan,” showrunner and executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson recently told of season 5.

She continued: “Not only is this adventure huge fun, it’s also an opportunity to explore the facets of their relationships in a new context. While it’s crucial to have true friends in day-to-day life, it’s priceless to have them supporting you when you leap out of your comfort zone.”

The streamer announced that the show, which is based on the series of books by best-selling author Sherryl Woods, had been renewed for a fifth season back in April.

Alongside the returning trio, fans can expect a handful of new faces in season 5, with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who will play Nell Winters, a writer that Maddie befriends, amongst the new additions.

Also joining the cast are Janice Wesley as Miss Eustice, Courtney Grace as Courtney Sinclair and John Gabriel Rodriquez as Clark Bellson.
