It was confirmed last summer that Sienna Miller and Dominic West will be leading the cast of War, a new Sky legal thriller – and now, their co-star Nina Sosanya has teased what we can expect.

Speaking to Radio Times and other press at Sky's Up Next event, Sosanya revealed that the upcoming series is "fast paced", "really glossy" and "very plot based", before calling it "kind of dastardly".

Sosanya also said that the series is "funny", and teased: "It's about two opposing law firms who are representing two people in a very high profile divorce. So it's very much about the face that you put on and trying to cover up who you really are."

She continued: "My character is the senior associate partner of one of the law firms, the older, more staid law firm I guess. Her name is Beatrice Ubosi, but she's known as Her Majesty because 'Beatrice, B, Queen Bea, Her Majesty' – she kind of rules the roost.

"She is arched. She has a team who are clever and not above doing things in an underhand way."

As well as Miller, West and Sosanya, War, which has already been greenlit for two seasons, will also star Phoebe Fox (Task), James McArdle (Playing Nice), Pip Torrens (The Crown) and Archie Renaux (Alien: Romulus).

The synopsis for the series says: "War follows two of London’s most prestigious rival firms – Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne – as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century. Each side is certain they’ll win. But as the case spirals and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone’s playing to win.

"This is just the beginning – season 1's explosive case is the first in an anthology of headline-making legal battles."

The series has been created by Hijack writer George Kay who, when it was first announced, said in a statement: "I am excited to be working with Sky and HBO - two homes for bold, ambitious storytelling – and our brilliant production team.

"War is a legal drama full of double crossing, scandal, twists and betrayal. The kind of TV show that made me want to write TV shows."

War will debut on Sky and NOW in the UK – sign up for Sky TV.
