Jodie Whittaker thriller pulled from streaming service confirms new free-to-air release date
One Night was originally released on Paramount+ in November 2023.

Jodie Whittaker's thriller series One Night, which originally debuted on Paramount+ but was swiftly pulled from the service, has now confirmed a release date on ITV1 and ITVX.
The six-part series will debut in full on ITVX on Saturday 16th August, before the first episode airs later that day at 9:30pm on ITV1.
The Australian thriller first debuted on Paramount+ in November 2023, but was removed from the platform just three months later in February 2024.
The series stars Whittaker, Nicole da Silva and Yael Stone as three women whose bond was all but destroyed a traumatic event 20 years prior.

The synopsis for the thriller says: "Since then, Simone (Nicole da Silva) has harboured secret hopes of becoming a novelist but most of her haphazard attempts have been shoved into her bottom drawer. Now, at the age of 40, she has finally written the one story she could never get out of her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight success.
"But it soon becomes apparent that the devastating story the book tells doesn’t exclusively belong to her. At the heart of Simone’s novel is a tragedy which also happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two childhood best friends.
"As it becomes harder to prise fact from fiction, one person’s memory and story from another’s, the book threatens to derail all their friendships, bringing old traumas to the surface of the small coastal community where they grew up, and stirring its perpetrators, who want to make it all go away."
When the series was first released, Doctor Who star Whittaker said that she was drawn to starring in it because of creator Emily Ballou, whose "writing was absolute poetry".
"The use of our younger versions within scenes, of flashbacks and memory; the celebration and complication of friendship; the exploration of trauma… I found that intoxicating," she said.
One Night will air on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player in August 2025.
