Speaking ahead of its debut, Zephryn Taitte said the pair "get really close, really quickly", but he also teased "an unexpected turn".

Could that be meeting Rosalind's parents for the first time?

"He has to wrestle with her parents and how they may view him and judge him, rightly or wrong," he added. "So, there's a lot for Cyril to contend with this season. There's love, but it's bittersweet."

In response to everything that happens in the coming episodes — which really "tests" the couple — Rosalind "grows up a lot", Natalie Quarry continued.

"It changes her perspective on some stuff, and there's good and there's bad. It's a big year for her, an exciting year," she said.

Rosalind and Cyril first grew close in last year's Christmas special when they teamed up to help an escaped convict organise a funeral for his mum, who had died while he was incarcerated.

Their bond grew stronger when Rosalind joined Cyril in volunteering at a homeless shelter, and once it was confirmed that Cyril and Lucille's divorce was underway, the pair continued to grow closer.

"Sister Julienne suddenly finds herself excited about the Order's future," reads the official synopsis. "After years of battling change, she decides to embrace it, work with it, and see what love can do.

"This change of energy reverberates throughout series 15. The series kicks off in 1971 with several of the ladies embracing Women’s Lib and burning their bras outside Nonnatus House.

"As the year unfolds, we see the team handle cases including premature birth, placenta previa, kidney cancer, tuberculosis and slavery."

Call the Midwife season 15 arrives on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 11th January 2026 at 8pm.
