Reanimal looks really scary.

Although Halloween has long come and gone, there are still plenty of horror games afoot, and we’ve got everything you need to know about the Reanimal release date, pre-orders situation and gameplay and story so you can get your best fright on.
If you’re after even more scares, then be sure to check out all the upcoming games in 2026 and beyond, as there are some seriously spooky titles on the horizon.
But as for Reanimal, it marks the return of Tarsier Studios, the team behind Little Nightmares 1 and 2, but they may as well call this one Big Nightmares, as it looks even more terrifying than those two titles.
But, as for when you actually play Reanimal and get scared silly, read on!
When is the Reanimal release date?
The Reanimal release date is Friday 13th February 2026.
A befittingly spooky date to launch a horror game. You only get so many spooky dates beyond Halloween, so developers have got to make them count!
Coming out on the 13th gives players two weeks to play through Reanimal before Resident Evil Requiem comes out later in the month, which is sure to attract all horror fans far and wide.

Reanimal is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and Xbox Series X/S.
If you have a console or PC, then you’ll probably be able to play Reanimal without a problem.
The Reanimal demo has been shown to run well on the Steam Deck, which is fairly low-powered, so any halfway decent computer from the last good while should run it ok.
If you are still on the previous console generation, then perhaps we can help you out with a bargain for the Switch 2, one of the flavours of PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X/S.
Reanimal gameplay and story details
Reanimal is a co-op horror adventure game that sees a brother and sister navigate a twisted world on a journey to save their friends.
The developers, Tarsier Studios, are the same team behind Little Nightmares 1 and 2, so if you have played either of these games, you should feel right at home.
You can play Reanimal in single-player if you haven’t a friend brave enough to play it through with you.

Yes, there are a number of Reanimal trailers.
We’ve included Trailer #2 above for your viewing pleasure, which shows the troubled siblings getting caught up in some rather unpleasant situations as they navigate a broken world on foot and by boat.
If you’re hoping to go in blind, the trailer does show off a good number of monsters, though, they’ll no doubt be just as scary, spoilers or otherwise.
