Rick and Morty spin-off President Curtis announced – Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community stars join cast
Keith David will reprise the title role from Dan Harmon's wacky sci-fi series.

Sci-fi animated favourite Rick & Morty is getting a new spin-off focusing on President Curtis, long-time leader of the United States and occasional rival to the chaos-bringing duo.
Keith David will return to voice the character, who has crossed paths with Rick and Morty during a number of their misadventures, including a season 7 episode in which the world leader attempted to use mind control to juice his approval ratings.
At this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, President Curtis was confirmed to be getting his very own series, which will explore the unusual situations he's left to clean up between Rick and Morty's calamitous visits.
David will be reprising the role of the President, with Jim Rash joining the regular voice cast in a miniature Community reunion; the actors previously starred in the sixth season of Dan Harmon's cult sitcom as Elroy Patashnik and Dean Pelton respectively.
Adding to the show's comedic horsepower is Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz, who has also been cast in an as-yet-undisclosed role, which is likely to be one of the President's closest staffers.
Harmon is co-creator of the President Curtis spin-off, working alongside long-serving Rick & Morty scribe James Siciliano on the project, which the writing duo says focuses on "one of our favourite characters".
"He's the only person in the multiverse who can go toe-to-toe with Rick and still hold office," they continued in a statement. "Now we finally get to go on sci-fi missions from Curtis' point of view.
"And with Keith David leading the charge, it's going to be a wild ride."

David commented: "President Curtis has always been a blast to play. Getting to explore his world more deeply in this new series is a dream. I can't wait for fans to see what kind of chaos he stirs up when Rick isn’t around to steal the spotlight."
Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen added: "This is a series we would have greenlit even if it didn’t have anything at all to do with Rick and Morty. President Andre Curtis is just that good of a character.
"The rest of the world the team has fleshed out is super fun and totally stands on its own. We can't wait for you to see it."
In addition to this spin-off, the future of the original Rick & Morty series has also been assured through to season 12 at least, meaning there will be plenty more outrageous sci-fi hijinks to come.
Rick & Morty seasons 1-7 are available on Netflix. Season 8 is currently airing on Channel 4.
