Yellowstone creator's new show breaks huge record with strong premiere ratings
The Taylor Sheridan drama is a surefire hit for Paramount+.
The first season of The Madison may have now drawn to a close, but its future has never been in doubt, with a second instalment already announced and some truly impressive viewing ratings now being revealed.
Another notch on Taylor Sheridan's drama belt, it was always clear that the show was destined to be a fan-favourite, particularly with the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell heading up the cast.
Well now, the series has been truly underlined as a Paramount+ hit, with the premiere episode boasting an impressive 8 million streaming views globally in its first 10 days, according to Deadline. That makes it Sheridan's biggest series launch ever.
And that's really saying something seeing as Sheridan has been behind the likes of Yellowstone, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, Marshals and Landman.
Paramount also revealed that The Madison is also, more specifically, Sheridan's biggest series debut among women aged 35 and above.
So, it's safe to say that the series launch of The Madison will be going down in the history books for Sheridan. However, it's not his best season debut overall, with that title remaining with the season 2 premiere of Landman. The Billy Bob Thornton series clocked up a staggering 9.2 million streaming views in just a couple of days.
As for The Madison, fans were left shocked with the series opener when a major character was killed off, underlining the series as Sheridan's most intimate, emotional series yet.

Well before season 1 had debuted, it had already been announced that season 2 was in the pipeline and is expected to be on our screens sometime next year.
We can expect a return of series lead Pfeiffer, with the other cast members including Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, Matthew Fox and Will Arnett.
