The series focuses on a group of people at the centre of a controversial criminal retrial and is jam-packed full of recognisable TV and film talent, including the late Helen McCrory, who is of course known for her roles in Peaky Blinders.

In season 1, the series centres on the murder of a 15-year-old boy whose classmate is accused of killing him, leading to plenty of media uproar and protests.

Following the 12 jurors, we get insight into their personal lives, motivations and largely, how the daunting prospect of deciding on a verdict that the nation is waiting on them for weighs heavy on each of them.

The cast of season one obviously includes McCrory but also boasts the likes of Gerard Butler, Nina Sosanya, Mark Strong and Nicholas Farrell, to name a few.

The second season isn't connected to the first, with The Jury acting as an anthology series by focusing on an entirely new cast and plot.

Season 2 came some time after the first, having premiered in 2011. The dark storyline focused on Alan Lane (John Lynch), who stands as part of a retrial but was previously convicted of the murder of three women he had met on a dating site.

Once again, the series centres on the 12 jurors who must decide on his fate, with each of the jurors walks of life varying majorly. As well as having to balance the controversial murder trial, the jurors also must grapple with personal problems including an extramarital affair, religion and immigration.

The cast for season 2 boasts the likes of Roger Allam, Jo Hartley, Meera Syal, Julie Walters and Sarah Alexander, among plenty others.

Previously, the series has been available to stream on ITVX, but now having landed on Netflix, is surely set to amass plenty of new viewers who aren't familiar with the drama.

The series was written by The Crown's Peter Morgan and at the time, was actually the first ever show to be allowed to film inside London's Old Bailey courthouse.

Having been known widely for creating Netflix's hit The Crown and helming it for all six seasons, it's safe to say that The Jury is quite the stellar drama, as it deals with the human stories of the justice system.

The Jury is now available to stream on ITVX and Netflix. Sign up for Netflix from £5.99 a month. Netflix is also available on Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream.
