Is Murder Most Puzzling returning for season 2?
Are we heading back to Bakerbury?

Murder Most Puzzling has drawn to a close after three feature-length episodes, which saw Downton Abbey's Phyllis Logan turn unofficial detective following her arrival in the not so sleepy market town of Bakerbury.
But will she be back for more?
"Wouldn’t that be fun, yes!" said Logan. "As long as I’ve got plenty of warning to learn the lines!
"It would be such fun because Cora is a great character and it was such a privilege to have the chance to have a go at her. It would be a shame for it to be a one-off."
Charlotte Hope, who played Cora's niece Sherry, also expressed her desire to reprise her role.
"I'd love to do this show for the rest of time!" she said. "It was such a laugh and I really love Sherry, she's so sweet and fun.
"We definitely see her become more confident as the series progresses, you see her going from a very buttoned up, tense woman to gradually relaxing, letting her hair down and coming into herself. It was a lot of fun to play her, so I hope people like the show and we can do more."
But have the commissioning Gods smiled sweetly on the show?
Read on for everything we know so far about a potential Murder Most Puzzling season 2.
Is Murder Most Puzzling returning for season 2?
There's currently no word on the show's future, but there's certainly scope for more given how season 1 wrapped up (more on that later).
And Parnell Hall's 20-strong book series, on which it's based, is brimming with potential plot points.
Watch this space for updates.
When could a potential Murder Most Puzzling season 2 air?
With no previous release schedule to go on, it's tricky to predict when the show could return, but we wouldn't expect it to arrive until 2026 at least.
Who could be in a potential Murder Most Puzzling season 2 cast?

Alongside Phyllis Logan as Cora Felton and Charlotte Hope as Sherry Carter, we'd also expect to see:
- Alistair Brammer as Anton Grant
- Adam Best as the now ex-DCI Hooper
- Richard Croxford as Mayor Firth
- Nick Danan as DS Sam Brody
- Jack Weise as PC Danny Finley
- Amber Mendez-Martin as Katy Hooper
- Yasmin Seky as Becky Baidwan
- Conor Sánchez as Jimmi Potter
- Mukamajulé Michelo as Ellen Hooper
And we'd also expect to see a raft of new guest stars.
What could happen in a potential Murder Most Puzzling season 2?
While season 2 has yet to be confirmed, fans will undoubtedly be hoping for more following a finale packed with unanswered questions.
Cora, who everyone now knows is not the real Puzzle Lady, received the following threatening note from a mystery individual: 'You broke my heart, now I'll break yours.'
Is one of her ex-husbands responsible? Or is there someone else we don't know about, perhaps an aggrieved fan, who is furious that Sherry is actually the puzzle maker and not Cora?
There's also Sherry and Anton, who clearly still fancy one another, but aren't currently dating. Will that change in a potential second instalment?
Plus, will Hooper get reinstated as DCI, and will karma finally have its way with the evil Mayor Firth?
We'd expect all of that to be tackled if the show returns while Cora throws herself into solving a raft of new cases.
When could a trailer for a potential Murder Most Puzzling season 2 arrive?
If season 2 is given the thumbs up, the trailer will likely arrive in the month leading up to the premiere.
