W1A sequel Twenty Twenty Six release date, cast and latest news
Hugh Bonneville returns to the role of Ian Fletcher for his new BBC sitcom.

Hugh Bonneville is returning to the hilarious role of Ian Fletcher for Twenty Twenty Six, which sees the mild-mannered executive thrown into the volatile offices of football's governing body ahead of a certain global tournament.
The new series continues a story that began with Olympics-spoofing Twenty Twelve and continued in BBC-set workplace comedy W1A, but creator John Morton has teased that it will be quite distinct from both.
In an interview with Radio Times, he explained that "a lot of people will not have seen the previous [shows], so it's got to work out of the box, fresh," before adding that his ultimate "aspiration" is for Twenty Twenty Six to be the best entry yet.
"[Making a TV show is] not easy, so given that you're embarking on something that will completely dominate your life and put you under a lot of stress and anxiety, you've got to hope that it will be better than the thing you did before," he concluded.
If you're excited to return to the wacky world of Ian Fletcher, read on for everything you need to know about Twenty Twenty Six on BBC Two and iPlayer.
Twenty Twenty Six release date

Twenty Twenty Six will premiere on BBC Two and iPlayer at 10pm on Wednesday 8 April 2026.
All episodes will be available from that date on iPlayer as a box set, for those who can't resist 'one more' episode.
Twenty Twenty Six plot: What is it about?
Twenty Twenty Six revisits the character of Ian Fletcher (played by Hugh Bonneville) as he accepts a new job at football's governing body as it plans an ambitious world tournament across three countries.
Eagle-eyed observers will notice the similarities with this summer's FIFA World Cup 2026, which is split across the United States, Canada and Mexico, and not-so-subtly satirised here.
Ian's new job title is Director of Integrity, based out of Miami, Florida, who is faced with the unenviable task of keeping an eccentric team from taking lumps out of each other. Best of luck!
Twenty Twenty Six cast: New and returning

Twenty Twenty Six sees Hugh Bonneville and Hugh Skinner reprise their W1A roles as embattled exec Ian Fletcher and his hapless personal assistant Will Humphries.
The rest of the cast is comprised of new characters, ensuring that Ian feels fittingly out of sorts in his unfamiliar workplace, with a wide variety of job roles and personality types represented.
That includes Alexis Michalik as slick top boss Eric Van Dupuytrens, Chelsey Crisp as enthusiastic sustainability lead Sarah Campbell, and Paulo Costanzo as the confrontational Nick Castellano.
Erin Kellyman, Joe Hewetson and Marli Siu form a farcical trio as the team's fresh-faced social media leads, while Nick Blood, Jimena Larraguivel, Stephen Kunken and Nicole Sadie Sawyerr round out the core cast.
Off-screen, the dulcet tones of David Tennant will once again narrate the ups and downs of the elaborate project.
