How to get Glimmet and evolve into Glimmora in Pokémon Go explained
Just don't go into any caves.

Glimmet and its evolution, Glimmora, have arrived in Pokémon Go, and you can catch them for yourself.
The Rock and Poison-types from Generation 9 join as part of the Into the Depths event, and offer a very interesting type combination for battles.
So, if you're wondering how to catch a Glimmet and evolve it into Glimmora in Pokémon Go, here's what you need to know.
How to get Glimmet in Pokémon Go explained
There are four possible ways to catch a Glimmet in Pokémon Go. These are:
- Routes encounters
- Event Field Research (Explore 3km)
- Free Into the Depths Timed Research quest

For the average player, the quickest way to get your hands on a Glimmora is a combination of exploring Routes and completing the free Into the Depths Timed Research quest.
The quest is simple to complete, but will take you a fair amount of time to do.
For that reason, we think that exploring routes on the side will give you a chance of getting one sooner, while still making progress towards the guaranteed one as a reward for completing the quest.
Unfortunately, shiny variants of Glimmet and Glimmora are not yet available in the game, so if you were hoping to add to your collection, you're out of luck.
How to evolve Glimmet into Glimmora in Pokémon Go explained
Thankfully, unlike many Pokémon these days, evolving Glimmet into Glimmora in Pokémon Go doesn't have any annoying prerequisites.
To evolve your Glimmet, all you need to do is collect 50x Glimmet Candy, so make sure to use a Pinap Berry when catching one, and to set it as your Buddy.
Catch enough of them, or spend enough time walking with one as your Buddy, and you'll have the Candy to evolve Glimmet in no time.
