Toy Story 5 trailer goes viral on social media over notable change in Woody's appearance
The addition of an evil tablet wasn't enough to keep fans from talking about Woody's new look.

The full-length trailer for Toy Story 5 has been released, and beyond the nostalgia, thrills and villainous iPad, there's one key thing fans have been picking up on – Woody's bald patch.
That's right, Tom Hanks's beloved character is back, reuniting with the rest of the toys after separating from them at the end of Toy Story 4.
However, he has changed a bit since we last saw him, developing a distinct 'bald patch' on the back of his head, which the light shines off of, blinding the other toys. Trixie notes that "someone needs a brown marker", something plenty of fans have been saying online too.
Meanwhile, villainous new character Lilypad, a tablet threatening to replace the toys in Bonnie's heart, asks whether Woody is "some sort of old man toy", with Forky clarifying that "she thinks you're old because you're bald, Woody".

On X, a number of fans have been noting that Woody needs a return visit to a character known only as 'the cleaner' from Toy Story 2, who fixed Woody up for display when he was damaged. This included spray painting brown over an area where his hair had been shined away.

Fans have also been reacting to the reveal, with one saying on X that "if you were alive when toy story 1 came out you may also be experiencing this," while another added: "I can’t think of a more meaningful and necessary story development than Woody balding."
This is the second trailer to be released for the new Pixar sequel, after a teaser trailer was released in November. The film will be released this summer.
Toy Story 5 arrives seven years after the fourth instalment, and is the second Pixar film set to be released this year, after upcoming original story Hoppers.
The likes of Tim Allen and Joan Cusack are also reprising their roles alongside Hanks, while new additions to the voice cast include Greta Lee, Ernie Hudson, Craig Robinson and Conan O'Brien.
Toy Story 5 will be released in cinemas on 19 June 2026.
