Kristen Stewart would consider a return to Twilight – but in a very different role
The actor revealed she’d be up for directing a Twilight remake.

Kristen Stewart has said she would be open to returning to the Twilight franchise, but not as Bella Swan.
The actor, who recently made her directorial debut in The Chronology of Water, was catapulted to fame after the release of the 2008 vampire film based on the popular Stephenie Meyer book series.
Speaking recently to Entertainment Tonight about how she “would love” to direct a reboot of Twilight, the Love Lies Bleeding star said: "I love what Catherine [Hardwicke] did, I love what Chris [Weitz] did, I love what all of the directors did with the movies."
She continued: "They were so themselves and weird and kind of like, squirrelly, and just so present in that time when they didn’t really know what they were yet, like before they blew up.”
She added: “I know; imagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support, I don’t know. I would love to readapt – yeah, sure, I’ll do the remake. I’m doing it, I’m committed.”
Stewart starred in the vampire franchise alongside Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Although she had already appeared as a child star in other films such as Panic Room and Speak, it was Twilight that launched her career to new heights.

The actor went on to appear in movies such as Charlie’s Angels, The Runaways, Snow White and The Huntsman, Lizzie, Love Lies Bleeding and Spencer, for which she earned an Oscar nomination. In 2025, she moved behind the camera to helm The Chronology of Water, an adaptation of Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir, starring Imogen Poots.
Across five Twilight Saga movies that were released between 2008 and 2012, the series grossed more than $3 billion in total at the worldwide box office, becoming the biggest vampire movie franchise ever.
