Britain’s Got Talent and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon is said to be in the running for a spot on the X Factor 2014 judging panel.
Dixon, who currently sits alongside Simon Cowell on the BGT panel, has apparently had discussions with the media mogul about a move.
“Alesha has been seriously considered as the fourth judge,” sources tell the Sun on Sunday. “She’s part of the Syco family and Simon is a huge fan.”
But it’s thought Alesha’s steady position on the variety style show, which returns next Saturday night, could stand in the way.
“It’s a very settled line-up with her, Simon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, and there’s a reluctance to needlessly break that up,” the source adds.
However, if Simon is able to do both shows it clearly isn’t a case of clashing schedules. Mr Cowell is himself returning this year alongside former judge Cheryl Cole having been part of the now halted US version of the show.
Dixon joins a weighty list of rumoured judges including Ellie Goulding, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and former Spice Girl Mel B.
Louis Walsh remains an uncertain final judge on the panel, although it’s thought Simon is keen for him to be there.
