Emmerdale fan-favourite confirms exit from soap after three months as co-stars urge him to return
They made quite the impact on viewers.

Emmerdale star Chris Coghill has confirmed his final scenes as Kev Townsend have already aired.
He initially departed in November, after wielding a sword at husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Kev realised that the two were inseparable and there was nothing he could do to win Robert back.

The character made an epic return over the Christmas and New Year period, coming face-to-face with twisted John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). As viewers know, John is determined to win Aaron back, and ordered Kev to murder Robert - and then take his own life.
This didn't happen, and instead, Kev warned Aaron about the unfolding situation before paying one last visit to the village to see his son Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) stopped the two from meeting, concerned that the revelation of his paternity would cause Lewis to spiral.

Consumed by sadness, Kev wandered off into the night.
Taking to Instagram, Coghill shared a clip of the scene and wrote: "Right. In a bit Emmerdale. Been an absolute joy.
"Thanks for all the love for Kev."

Co-star Miller commented: "I'm gonna start a petition," followed by a crying face. His words were echoed by Riches, who wrote: "MISS YOU DAD XX".
In fact, the official Emmerdale account even penned a sorrowful message, writing: "Miss you already."
Will we see Kev back one day?
