EastEnders reveals outcome of Avani Nandra-Hart's baby dilemma in BBC iPlayer release

The young woman was reeling to learn that she was expecting a baby, after having sex once with nasty teen Joel Marshall (Max Murray).

Although Avani told step-grandmother Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) that she wanted a termination, Suki vowed to bring up the child as her own.

Refusing the suggestion, Avani left Suki's wife Eve (Heather Peace) bemused when she quizzed her on whether she wanted children, with Eve saying that no, she didn't.

With that, Avani was set on going to the clinic, telling concerned friend Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) where she was off to.

Barney tried to convince Avani to tell her parents, but she refused, believing her situation was as easy as taking a pill and moving on.

Suki apologised for her eagerness and offered to accompany Avani to her appointment, but was coldly rejected.

So Suki accosted Barney to find out the location of the clinic, before finding Avani on the London Underground and insisting on supporting her.

In the waiting room, Suki questioned Avani's choice yet again, making incessant comments about the enormity of the situation and implying that Avani would regret ending her pregnancy.

As Suki offered to pay for everything Avani would need to carry the baby, Avani wasn't interested.

They then discussed the experience of Suki's daughter Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha), with Suki rather boldly stating that if Ash, who she is now estranged from, had had the option she was giving Avani now, she would have taken it!

When Suki added that she and Eve would make good parents to the child, Avani reminded her that Eve wasn't keen on the concept - but Suki merely said that Eve would "come round".

Eventually, Suki promised to stop pressuring Avani, at which point Avani began to have second thoughts just as a nurse called for her to come through.

Avani explained that she had changed her mind, telling Suki that she could have her baby after all.

How will Eve react to this blindsiding bombshell?
