Coronation Street lines up new conflict for Swarla in ITVX edition

Lisa's lingering grief for late wife Becky has bled into her work as a police detective, affecting her behaviour and leading her boss, DI Costello, to order her into counselling.

It was clear that Lisa didn't want to comply, but she had no choice if she wished to keep her livelihood.

Eventually, Lisa told Carla that she would go ahead with the therapy sessions, but she refused to open up with the counsellor, Floyd.

Meanwhile, Lisa and Carla have agreed to buy a house together, only to be caught in a bidding war with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) over Yasmeen Metcalfe's (Shelley King) home.

But the plot thickens in Monday's (21st July 2025) episode of Coronation Street, when Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) borrows Carla's laptop at Underworld and spots something rather intriguing.

When Michael challenges Carla on this, pointing out the flaws in her plan, Carla doesn't take too kindly to his interference.

While you'll have to tune in on ITVX, or watch at 8pm on ITV1 to find out exactly what Carla is up to, we can say that her secret directly affects Lisa and what she's currently going through.

If Lisa finds out what Carla is doing, there could be serious tension between the hot-headed officer and the factory owner.

Meanwhile, Debbie, who has dementia, leaves Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) reeling when she kisses him on the lips to thank him for resolving a problem with a hotel guest.

When Ryan tells Debbie's partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) that he's worried about her symptoms, how will Debbie react?
