Stranger Things season 5 star teases “resolution” for key character in “emotional” finale
Star Linnea Berthelsen teased what's ahead in the long-awaited finale.
Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Stranger Things season 5 volume 2.
The end is near for Stranger Things season 5, with fans now awaiting the finale, which has been in the making for almost a decade.
For Kali star Linnea Berthelsen, it marks the end of a unique journey, with the actress returning for season 5 after she was first introduced to viewers eight years earlier in season 2.
By the end of season 5 volume 2, Kali and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) have an impossible decision ahead of them, grappling with the idea of sacrificing themselves for the greater good after the reveal that Dr Kay (Linda Hamilton) has used Kali's blood to restart Dr Brenner's programme.
As for where Kali is headed in the finale? "Towards some sort of resolution," Berthelsen teased in an interview with RadioTimes.com.
"I think that's the only thing I can say. There is an end to her storyline, and it's something that, for me, felt very right and very emotional."

She added of the ending in general: "I think for the fans, who've been so supportive of the whole show, for the creators, for the cast, it's just going to be very emotional.
"I was there for the table read. I was lucky enough to be in that room and see the whole ending, and I feel like everybody was crying in there. It was just so emotional. And every time I've read the rest of it, it's just been really emotional, really beautiful, really well done."

Speaking previously to RadioTimes.com, Stranger Things creator the Duffer Brothers opened up about the intention behind their finale, saying: "There's a sense of inevitability. When you're looking at shows that don't work, or the endings that don't work, it is when it feels like sometimes the shows are trying too hard to surprise fans or do something different.
"So we want it to feel very much in line with the show and the endings for each of the characters to feel inevitable. That's what we're striving for."
Stranger Things season 5 concludes on New Year's Day.
