With season 3 now concluded, Jujutsu Kaisen season 4 is already on our minds as we look forward to the Culling Game Part 2.

After a long wait, the anime made a return earlier this year, with Yuji Itadori and his allies forced into the Kenjaku's deadly tournament of sorcerers.

Just like season 2, the Culling Game Arc has been split up into two halves to maintain the high-quality animation fans have become accustomed to.

Now, following an extended finale to show off the Sendai Colony battle, fans are eagerly awaiting what comes next – here's what you need to know about Jujutsu Kaisen season 4, when The Culling Games Part 2 could begin, and what happened to season 3 part 2.

When could Jujutsu Kaisen season 4 be released?

Although we don't have a confirmed release date for The Culling Game Part 2, there are some clues that point to when the next season could arrive.

Initially, it had been expected that season 3 would follow a similar release pattern to season 2, which was split into two halves with a three-month hiatus in-between.

This led fans to suspect that, for The Culling Games, we could expect a summer 2026 release window, with Part 2 kicking off in or around July 2026.

However, it now appears more likely that we can expect a later release date.

The time slot previously occupied on Japanese television by Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has already been filled by other series for the rest of 2026.

That would mean the earliest time JJK could reclaim that spot for season 4 would be in early 2027.

This is, of course, all purely speculation, and we will be waiting on official confirmation from Studio MAPPA before we know for sure.

What happened to Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 part 2?

Originally, Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 was expected to be split into two parts, like with season 2.

This led to fans expecting that, following the airing of episode 12 in the latest season, we could expect episode 13 to air fairly soon after. Unfortunately, it appears that this is not the case.

In a post to X, the official Jujutsu Kaisen anime account provided an update to the situation, dubbing the most recent episode, Sendai Colony, the "Season 3 Finale".

Furthermore, it reads: "The fate of Itadori and his companions, who are working to quell the game, will be revealed in Season 4, 'The Culling Game Part 2'," before signing off: "Please stay tuned for further updates."

So, to put it simply, season 3 part 2 has been skipped over by MAPPA, who have instead opted to go straight to season 4.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 is available to stream on Crunchyroll now.
