What happened between Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki after Love Island?
The couple met on the ITV reality show in 2023.

Whitney Adebayo is making a return to the Love Island villa, hoping for a second chance at love, as All Stars finally returns to screens tonight (15th January) after a brief delay.
She first appeared on Love Island in 2023, entering as a bombshell and was a quick favourite among fans, notably for her one-liners and talent show performance. It was on this series she met Lochan Nowacki, who entered the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell.
The pair quickly fell in love and placed as runners-up, so it was quite the shock to fans when after almost two years of being together, the pair announced they had gone their separate ways.
Lochan has since got into a new relationship, while Whitney is headed into the villa and is looking forward "to being in a bikini every day, dating guys, in good company... it’s a good time to forget about the world".
She added: "There’s always something! And to take a break from the world, how many people can say they took a great break from the world? Twice!"
So, why did Whitney and Lochan break up and what have they had to say about it? Read on to find out more.
What happened between Whitney and Lochan and why did they break up?

Whitney and Lochan were firm fan favourites during their time on Love Island in 2023, but after just under two years together, in April 2025, the pair announced they had split up.
"Hey guys, Unfortunately mine and Lochan's relationship has come to an end," Whitney wrote on her Instagram Stories. "Thank you for all the love and support that you've shown us through our journey, we're forever grateful."
Lochan shared the same statement to his Instagram Stories.
During an episode of her podcast, Whitney hinted that the reason behind her split from Lochan was because: "Some people don’t wanna compromise."
She claimed that in her previous relationship, her former partner "came over" and told her how much she had changed.
Whitney recalled how he said: "I’ve seen how much you’ve changed, and you’re becoming like the woman that we always spoke about you becoming. And I’m just not willing to do that."
She added: "I was bamboozled. This is the person that you told me you wanted."

Three months after they announced they had split up, Whitney shared a TikTok in which she said she had "fallen in love with the skin he used to call dirty".
The alleged comment led to fan speculation as to who Whitney was referring to, which led to Lochan denying he had made such a remark.
"I want to first off say, I've never called anyone's skin dirty and I would never," he shared in a lengthy TikTok video.
Sharing his version of events, Lochan explained: "About a year into my relationship with Whit, we were on a walk close to my flat. She got her nails done, and she, you know, annoyingly put her nails in my face and was like, 'Oh, my hands are so clean. My hands are so clean. Yours aren't,' And I was like, 'No, they're not'.
"And, you know, I was kind of just annoyed that her hands were in my face. But it was a very off the cuff remark. I just said, 'No, they're not,' and, you know, she looked at me in shock and was like, 'You're calling me dirty?'"
He added: "And, you know, I was taken back by that. I was, you know, I felt insulted that my girlfriend, who I loved, who knows me, who knows that I would never insinuate something like that is, you know, calling me a racist and saying, 'You're calling my skin dirty'."

After Lochan shared this video, Whitney responded with her timeline of events, adding: "We were walking back from lunch, going back to his place, and I was in the sun, and I was like, 'Babe, look how my skin glistens in the sun'. And he looked at me and he was like, 'Ugh, it's dirty'.
"And then only when I lashed out, he was like, 'It was a joke, it was a joke'. And he was crying."
It was then reported by The Sun that Lochan had taken legal action against Whitney, later sharing a statement that he felt he had "no other choice".
It read: "A series of posts have been released making defamatory comments about my family, friends and I. I never wanted things to reach this stage, and I did try to take this situation through to resolution. I felt I was left with no other choice but to take this course of action."
It continued: "Taking this step was not about taking anything from Whitney, it's about protection, it's about clearing the serious reputational damage that has been caused to me and my family. For the avoidance of doubt, I categorically deny and refute the information that has been spread about my family and myself online.
"I have no desire to prolong this situation. More than anything, I want to close this down and for us both to move forward separately."

Upon the news that Lochan was taking legal action, a spokesperson for Whitney said at the time: "Whitney has instructed her own legal team and is very confident in her position. If any claim is issued by Mr Nowacki, it will be vigorously defended."
However, The Sun reported last month that the pair had ended any legal dispute and had come to agreement.
Speaking ahead of the new All-Stars season, Whitney was asked by reporters about the case, to which she replied (via The Mirror): "I've never had a court case so this is genuinely news to me. I've just been focusing on my business – my hair business, my podcast. No, no court case."
