The Traitors oath explained: Did Fiona break the rules?
It was a moment no one could have expected...

**Warning: Contains spoilers for The Traitors season 4**
The Traitors season 4 has been truly electrifying TV viewing, from the introduction of a secret Traitor to players being locked in cages as they were put on trial for murder.
But no one could've quite foreseen the explosive fifth episode, that saw two Traitors turn on each other in front of the entire group!
Fiona and Rachel are both popular players and for many, they are deemed as Faithful, but after a shocking theory from Fiona – could the game be completely changed?
At the start of each series, the chosen Traitors must take an oath to agree to keep the identity of themselves and the other Traitors hidden, but has this been broken?
Read on to learn more about the oath as we dissect whether it's been broken.
What is The Traitors oath?
The Traitors oath is an agreement the Traitors make before heading into the turret for the first time.
As seen in the first episode, Claudia Winkleman tells the Traitors: "Do you commit to lie and deceive throughout the game? Are you willing to murder your fellow players every single night? And do you vow to keep your identity and the identity of your fellow players a secret?"
The players must follow this, but it isn't wholly clear in which settings they apply.

Did Fiona break The Traitors oath?
The BBC has not confirmed or denied if Fiona has broken The Traitors oath, though fans have speculated online that this could be the case.
In the fifth episode of season 5, Amanda confided in Rachel that she was a detective, a secret she had been hiding from the group.
After Amanda was banished from the castle, Rachel told the other players about Amanda's secret, but Fiona was incredulous at the thought that Amanda had confided in Rachel and not her.
This led to Fiona telling Harriet she thought Rachel was lying before she told the rest of the group she believed that Rachel was a Traitor.
Of course, viewers are aware that Fiona and Rachel are indeed Traitors, so had Fiona let slip one of the major rules?
Technically, the rules aren't very clear, as no Traitor has been punished for throwing another Traitor under the bus at a roundtable, or for planting seeds of doubt about a fellow Traitor to other players.
What do viewers think?
The opinion is divided. While some viewers believe Fiona has done nothing wrong and is simply playing the game, others think she has broken the rules of the game.
In fact, when I posed to question on social media, plenty of fans have shared their takes on whether or not Fiona was in the wrong.
One user wrote: "She said I think she is a Traitor so she isn't saying she is, she is just speculating – I'd imagine if a Traitor got banished they can't say it as a closing statement."
Another added: "Interesting but I don't think she technically broke rules because she said 'I believe'. She's saying it like she's a faithful and doesn't know for sure, but yeah close to the edge."
