Destination X burst onto TV screens tonight, and it certainly didn't hold back!

The series introduced audiences to a group of contestants who all arrived at an airport, unaware of where their destination was, with host Rob Brydon offering teasers and hints of what viewers should pay attention to in the opening scenes.

Soon, it all became clear to the players that they should've kept a watchful eye on the people they met, the names they heard and conversations they listened in on, as it all led to their first challenge.

After being greeted by Brydon, the 13 contestants were told to find various items, but only 10 of them would be making it to the next leg of the journey.

Claire and Josh sat next to each other in conversation, smiling in a busy airport lounge.

In a shocking moment, the final three contestants standing were sent packing before the games truly begun, which echoed a similar moment to The Traitors that aired earlier this year.

In the launch episode of season 3, a brutal elimination twist was aired as host Claudia Winkleman explained that in order to win some of the prize money, one person from each carriage would have to disembark the train before the game could start - but the decision was down to the players themselves.

Of course, fans will know that these three contestants returned later on in the run, but only two of them progressed further in the competition.

But Ashvin, Claire and Chloe-Anne weren't the only contestants to leave in episode 1, with two more players departing the game.

The first was Mahdi, who made the decision to leave on his own accord, citing that he was looking forward to a home-cooked meal and his own bed.

More shocking was the first elimination. As per the rules of the game, the players had to vote for where in Europe they believed they were, with the player who voted furthest away to be eliminated.

In a moment no one was expecting, it was crime writer Deborah who was eliminated, despite receiving two major clues that the other players did not get.

As the episode continues tomorrow night, who will be the next contestant to leave Destination X?

Destination X continues on Thursday 31st July at 9pm on BBC One.
