We'll bid goodbye to a familiar face ahead of Season 3...
HBO Max's award-winning medical drama The Pitt is shuffling its pack ahead of Season 3 – with two key cast changes revealed.
The American show brings back together a trio of ER alumni – lead star Noah Wyle (ER, Falling Skies), creator R. Scott Gemmill (NCIS: Los Angeles) and producer John Wells (The West Wing, Shameless). Each 15-episode season follows the trials and tribulations of a shift in the Emergency Department of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
A report from Variety has revealed that actress Supriya Ganesh, who plays senior resident Dr Samira Mohan, will not be returning for the third season of the show.
Ganesh is set to leave after Season 2 in "a story-driven decision", which makes sense as in a training hospital like Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, it is common practice for residents to move between departments.
Additionally, it is understood that Ayesha Harris, who plays Dr Parker Ellis, one of the senior night shift residents, has been promoted to a series regular for Season 3.
Radio Times has reached out to HBO Max and Warner Bros Discovery for comment on this report.
Harris (Daisy Jones and the Six, Glamorous) featured in four episodes in The Pitt's debut season and was back in the fray for Season 2.
The US show, which is led by ER icon Wyle, premiered to critical acclaim in the United States – winning five Emmys among countless other awards – before crossing the Atlantic in recent days and becoming a fast fan favourite.

The first season of The Pitt was part of HBO Max's launch offering, with the Warner Bros' streaming platform arriving on our shores at the end of March, and episodes from Season 2 are being released every Thursday for UK viewers.
