The Summer I Turned Pretty's long-awaited final season has finally made its debut on Prime Video, and as ever, there's plenty to talk about, from Taylor and Steven's on-off romance to a car crash that almost spelled the end for Belly's brother following a heated argument with her best friend.

But that was all eclipsed by Belly and Jeremiah, who have taken their relationship to the next level after a potentially life-changing moment at the end of episode 2.

At the beginning of the third season, the pair were blissfully happy, save for Belly's dilemma about whether to go and study in Paris, and Jeremiah's dismay about not being eligible to graduate after failing to meet the requirements.

But they were solid – that is until everything came crashing down when Belly discovered that he had slept with another girl twice during spring break.

Jeremiah thought that they had broken up following a particularly explosive argument before he left for his trip, while she believed that they were still together, but were simply taking some time apart, à la Ross and Rachel – which he was all set to confess when he returned.

But the moment ended up passing and said scandal was subsequently swept under the rug.

That all changed, however, when Belly overheard the girl in question talking at a recent sorority party about her encounter with Jeremiah, in turn prompting a heartbroken Belly to end their relationship.

But their time apart was fleeting. Following some words of wisdom from Taylor, who was reevaluating her feelings towards Steven in the aftermath of his accident, Belly decided to forgive Jeremiah and take him back.

And that wasn't the only development...

After promising never to betray her trust again, Jeremiah then asked Belly if she would do him the honour of marrying him – and without hesitation, she said yes.

But while the couple are currently on cloud nine as they plan the rest of their lives together, not everyone is reaching for the champagne.

"I'm sorry, what?" says Laurel in the trailer after her daughter delivers the big news.

"You two aren't ready for a commitment like this. You're talking about a lifetime."

Jeremiah then fires back, asserting that he's ready to commit to Belly forever, but Laurel isn't buying it.

"That is how I know you're not ready," she responds, unwilling to budge on her position – and she's got a point. Not only are they incredibly young, with their whole lives ahead of them, they've only just rekindled their relationship, which doesn't inspire confidence.

And then, there's Conrad.

While Belly's love for Jeremiah is undeniable, her feelings for his brother are still there, and at the end of the trailer, we see her walking down the aisle in a white dress.

But who will she choose to marry?

"Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart," reads the synopsis.

"Summer will never be the same…"
