Since premiering, the four-parter has quickly struck a chord with viewers for its heartwarming storytelling and catchy soundtrack, which will undoubtedly transport viewers straight to the '80s.

The drama explores the magic of music, focusing on Daniel and Alison, who once shared a deep romantic connection but who now live on opposite sides of the world.

When a familiar song from their shared history resurfaces, the duo are soon reckoning with the "what ifs" of their past – but will they ever be able to return to the way they once were, or has too much time gone by?

As is obvious from its title and synopsis, the narrative is very much centred around the power of music. Naturally, then, there are a whole host of carefully curated '80s-influenced tracks that guide us through the four-part drama.

So, exactly what songs are featured in Mix Tape?

Read on for everything you need to know about the soundtrack to the BBC drama.
