The BBC has acquired quite the romantic gem for those who revel in tales of love and nostalgia. With Mix Tape having now landed on BBC iPlayer, the series is set to take viewers on a journey of teenage first love in '80s Sheffield right through to the modern day.
Jim Sturgess and Teresa Palmer lead the new drama as Daniel and Alison, who fell in love many moons ago as youngsters and reconnect in adulthood through a song from their past. However, living on opposite sides of the world may put one or two spanners in the works as they navigate their feelings, as well as consider if this is the love they were always destined to have.
The four-part series is all about love and reconnection through music, with some familiar faces dotted through the cast that you may recognise. As well as Sturgess and Palmer, the cast also includes a star from Bridgerton.

Where have I seen Teresa Palmer? The Australian actress is known for roles as a scream queen in various films like The Twin, Warm Bodies and Lights Out. She has also starred in A Discovery of Witches, The Clearing, The Last Anniversary and The Fall Guy.
Jim Sturgess as Daniel

Who is Daniel? Still living in Sheffield, Daniel decides to get back in touch with his first love Alison 20 years after they last saw each other.
Where have I seen Jim Sturgess? Sturgess is known for his starring roles in films like 2011's One Day, Crossing Over, The Way Back and Cloud Atlas. He has also starred in TV series like Feed the Beast, Home Before Dark and more recently, The Stolen Girl.

Florence Hunt as Young Alison

Who is Young Alison? In flashbacks to 1989, we follow Alison as she navigates her teenage years and blossoming feelings for Daniel.
Where have I seen Florence Hunt? Hunt is best known for her role as Hyacinth Bridgerton in Netflix's Bridgerton, a role she's held since its debut in 2020. She has also starred in Cursed and is set to star Queen At Sea.
Rory Walton-Smith as Young Daniel

Who is Young Daniel? We also follow Daniel as a teenager in 1989 Sheffield where he also is navigating all the highs and lows that come with the age.
Where have I seen Rory Walton-Smith? Mix Tape is Walton-Smith's TV debut.
Julia Savage as Stella

Who is Stella? Stella is Alison and Michael's teenage daughter.
Where have I seen Julia Savage? The Australian actress has starred in Class of '07, The Clearing and 2019's Sweet Tooth.
Ben Lawson as Michael

Who is Michael? Michael is married to Alison and is a successful surgeon.
