The second season of Taylor Sheridan's oil drama Landman has now come to an end, but thankfully, fans already know they haven't seen the last of the Paramount+ show.

A third season was confirmed in December 2025, which is a good thing for fans given that season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, with Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris and his family looking to start their own oil company, called CTT Oil Exploration.

In recent weeks, there have been some rumours swirling that Thornton would be leaving the show - but he has now clarified these reports are nothing more than "AI-generated crap."

He told USA Today: "There’s an AI report that Demi [Moore] and I are a couple now, and there’s one that I’m leaving the show. They have nothing to do with reality."

Thornton confirmed that he will "be there for season 3", adding that he's particularly enjoyed working with season 2 addition Sam Elliott, who plays his character's dad TL.

"It’s been great working with Sam," he said. "And I love doing the show. I’ll be here as long as it plays out. If it’s five years, great. If it’s six, I’m there."

Alongside Thornton, Moore and Elliott, Landman also stars Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, Andy Garcia, Guy Burnet and Miriam Silverman.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter following the season 2 finale being released, Thornton also revealed that Sheridan keeps future plotlines close to his chest, but he personally has a feeling about how season 3 will compare to the previous two.

"I have a feeling — this is not even a rumor, it’s only in my head and just a guess — but that season three may be a combo of seasons one and two," he said. "Where maybe the danger will come back, but those relationships will still be at the forefront. And that’s just a guess."

Landman seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Paramount+ now. Get a seven day free Paramount Plus trial at Amazon Prime Video.
