Netflix confirms release date and shares first look at Take That documentary

Netflix has unveiled a first look clip for new documentary series, Take That - and there isn't long to go before it is released on the streamer.

The documentary was confirmed to be in the works last year, promising to tell the "remarkable story of the UK's most iconic boy band", told from three of the men who continue its legacy.

The three-part series goes behind the scenes with Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, with archived interviews with Jason Orange and Robbie Williams, as they reveal their personal experiences in a band that had millions of fans and sold over 45 million records worldwide.

The newly released clip shows the band preparing for a show, with Barlow narrating: "Nothing beats being in a band. There's a strength, there's a buzz... But I don't think anything could prepare you for what we were about to take on, come the '90s."

The series launches on Netflix on Tuesday 27th January 2026, featuring 35 years of "rare archive, never-before-seen footage, personal material" and brand new interviews with Barlow, Donald and Owen.

The synopsis continues: "This series offers an intimate look at the highs, the heartbreaks, and the enduring legacy of one of the UK’s most successful bands of all time.

"From their early beginnings as five piece formed in Manchester to becoming pop superstars, relive the camaraderie, chaos, and resilience that fueled their meteoric rise, dramatic split, and one of the greatest comebacks in British music history. Told in their own words, this is the deeply personal and definitive story of Take That."

Commenting on the commission of the documentary, Take That said at the time: "We are so excited to be partnering with Netflix and Fulwell for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into our journey as a band over the last 35 years.

"We can't wait to share our story!"
