One of Britain's most enduringly popular sitcoms isn't going anywhere just yet, with Lee Mack and Sally Bretton set to return in a 15th season of Not Going Out.

The show scored an early renewal for season 15 back in May, following a major format change that came to an effect in this summer's episodes, finding Lee (Mack) and Lucy (Bretton) in a new stage of their lives.

Jumping forward by six years, the couple are no longer rushing around their kids (who have flown the nest), meaning that it's once again just the two of them getting into all manner of mishaps.

The chaos is even more concentrated in a bold format shift, which sees each story play out in real-time over a 30-minute window, posing a fresh storytelling challenge for Mack and co-writer Daniel Peak after several years of collaboration.

If you're excited for more Not Going Out, here's everything we know so far about season 15 on BBC One and iPlayer, including informed speculation on when the next episodes could premiere.

Not Going Out season 15 release date speculation

Not Going Out season 15 will premiere on BBC One and iPlayer in 2026, although a more specific release date is still to be confirmed.

Notably, the series has recently found a summer home in the schedules, with seasons 13 and 14 both landing in June, so it's possible that the next entry will stick to this timeline.

That said, earlier iterations of the sitcom have hopped around all over the calendar year, so there's no guarantee that another shake-up isn't right around the corner.

For now, though, the most likely outcome seems to be a summer 2026 release date for Not Going Out season 15. We'll update this page if and when any additional information comes to light.

Not Going Out season 15 cast

Not Going Out season 15 will see the return of Lee Mack and Sally Bretton as longtime couple Lee and Lucy, chronicling their quirky lives as empty nesters living in the countryside.

The previous season was notable for cutting the show's supporting cast, including Hugh Dennis, Abigail Cruttenden, Deborah Grant and Geoffrey Whitehead, in favour of a format squarely focused on Lee and Lucy's dynamic.

Given the success of that approach, it's possible that Not Going Out season 15 will retain the same stripped back cast, but it's also possible that Mack may want to invite back some familiar faces for the show's 20th anniversary.

For now, we can only speculate – we'll update this page with more information as it comes in.

Not Going Out season 15 premise

Not Going Out season 15 finds Lee and Lucy regaining their independence after their grown-up kids fly the nest for university.

As a result, they're quickly back to their old ways, getting into more absurd mishaps, with season 14 seeing them appear as extras in a Game of Thrones-style drama among other misadventures.

No doubt Mack and co-writer Daniel Peak will concoct plenty more embarrassing scenarios for the couple in the next edition.
