Ghosts and Rivals stars reveal pressure of pulling off Here We Go's Lego Eiffel Tower disaster
The cast only had two attempts at the nightmarish moment. *SPOILERS FOR HERE WE GO SEASON 3 PREMIERE*

The cast of BBC sitcom Here We Go have recalled filming an ambitious stunt for the season 3 premiere, in which an enormous Lego Eiffel Tower is unceremoniously destroyed.
Locked In finds the Jessop family attempting to make their way to an escape room experience, only to find themselves unwittingly trapped in their own home due to a faulty lock.
One of the subplots in the episode sees daughter Amy (Freya Parks) putting the finishing touches on a 10,000-piece Lego Eiffel Tower, which those familiar with the calamitous Jessops may have guessed wouldn't be long for this world.
Nevertheless, the moment that the structure comes crashing down remains surprising in its sheer abruptness, as a distracted Rachel (Katherine Parkinson) gently bumps into it while preoccupied with another task.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com and other press, Here We Go creator Tom Basden – who also stars as Rachel's brother, Robin – revealed the episode was filmed using two separate Lego Eiffel Towers.

One was fully constructed, and the other only partly, both to reflect the show's multiple timelines and to give the cast a second shot at knocking it over if the first attempt didn't quite work out.
"But even then you're like, 'Okay, we haven't got long'," recalled Basden. "It was funny, when we did it I remember there were a lot of people giving Katherine a lot of advice about how to do the scene – 'approach it like this, and don't do that…' And she said, [raising voice] 'I'll just do it! I'll just do it!'"
Parkinson's recollection of the stunt was similar, saying that: "Tom was very concerned that I talked that through and I just don't operate like that – we only had two goes at it, but I think it's really hard to cheat those things".

While the show is largely scripted, Here We Go creator Basden explained that they often have to "work out on the day" the precise movements of the characters through the Jessop household, with timing being key – particularly when performing a stunt.
Co-star Jim Howick, of Ghosts fame, added: "The nature of the show is that it's constant the whole time. The flow of the camera work, the choreography of the camera work, it means that so many elements have to be timed exactly at that point.
"It managed to come together well, which is a testament to the crew on quite a busy, frantic day."
If Here We Go's season 3 premiere left you with an urge to build, be warned that the Lego Eiffel Tower set is listed for an eye-watering £554.99 on the company's official website (at the time of writing). No wonder the crew limited themselves to two!
