Pokémon X and Y cheats: Full list of cheat codes and how to use them

If you're going back to revisit Pokémon X and Y, then you might be after some cheats to get some more enjoyment out of it.

We've come a long way since the likes of FireRed and Emerald, and if you want to finish that Generation 6 Pokédex, cheat codes might be your best option.

So, while we all sit and wait for Pokémon Winds and Waves, let's take a look at the full list of Pokémon X and Y cheat codes and how to use them.

How to use Pokémon X and Y cheats

There are different methods to using Pokémon X and Y cheats, depending on if you're using 3DS or 2DS console, or using an emulator such as Citra.

Here's what you need to do:

How to use Pokémon X and Y cheats on 3DS

To use cheats on a 3DS, you'll need to install the Luma3DS custom firmware or use an Action Replay cartridge.

If you do not have an Action Replay, then you can find information on how to install Luma3DS on the official website.

Once you've got your cheat software set up, you'll need to enter a Master Code to enable cheats. The master code for Pokémon X and Y is as follows:

18C67566 0000YYYY

Once this has been entered, all you need to do is enter and enable your chosen cheat from the list down below!

How to use Pokémon X and Y cheats on Citra

To use your cheats on Citra, first, boot up Pokémon X or Y on Citra.

Select the Home button on your screen. This will be in the bottom-right corner if you're playing in portrait mode, and top-right if you're in landscape mode.

Select the 'Cheat Code' menu option to enter the cheats menu. Select the 'Edit Cheat' button at the bottom of your screen.

Copy your cheat code of choice from the list down below, right click and select 'Paste as plain text' to allow the code to be read properly. Add a label above the code in square brackets to label it, e.g. [Max Money Cheat].

Press 'Done' and select the 'Cheat List' option. Here, you can tick the boxes next to each cheat to enable them. Once enabled, restart your game and enjoy!

Before you use any cheats, make sure to save your game. We also recommend not using more than three cheats at once, otherwise your game can become less stable.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are any available cheats to modify wild Pokémon or to complete the Pokédex for these games – we've tried our hardest to find any!
