Subnautica 2 has finally arrived, bringing players back to those murky ocean depths, but is it on Xbox Game Pass?

The first game was a hit, and with the interest we're already seeing in the sequel, it seems a sure thing that this one will be too.

But with a whole subscription service full of games, it can be hard to justify dropping the money on a brand-new title.

So, if you're looking to jump in and are wondering if it's on Game Pass, here's what you need to know.

Is Subnautica 2 on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes, Subnautica 2 is on Xbox Game Pass.

The game is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the much cheaper PC Game Pass.

That means if you own both an Xbox and a PC, then your cheapest way to play Subnautica 2 is going to be on your PC.

It should be noted that, as the game is not available on Xbox One consoles, regardless of which Game Pass plan you're on, you can only play it on Xbox Series X/S, PC and via Cloud gaming.

It's quite surprising to see Subnautica 2 already on Xbox Game Pass as the game has only just launched into Early Access.

Typically, Early Access titles remain PC-only throughout the remainder of their development, only coming to consoles, and more specifically, to subscription services like Xbox Game Pass upon their full release.

Thankfully, developer Unknown Worlds and publisher Krafton have seen fit to forego that system, and we're all able to dive into Subnautica 2 via Game Pass right from the get-go.

Though considering the game is already racking up incredible sales numbers on Steam, having it available on Xbox Game Pass might mean the studio will miss out on plenty of sales in the long run.
