Summary
"Holby City" is a spin-off from medical drama "Casualty". It follows the lives of staff on the wards of Holby City Hospital. The original cast included consultants Anton Meyer (George Irving) and Muriel McKendrick (Phyllis Logan), registrar Nick Jordan (Michael French), senior house officer Victoria Merrick (Lisa Faulkner), ward sister Julie Bradford (Nicola Stephenson) and nurse practitioner Jasmine Hopkins (Angela Griffin). Notable guest stars have included Leslie Philips, Peter Bowles, Johnny Briggs, Richard Briers, Eric Sykes and David Soul. Over the years, there have been a number of "Casualty"/"Holby City" crossover episodes featuring characters from each of the two casts. "Holby City" premiered on BBC One in January 1999. Spin-off series "HolbyBlue" emerged in 2007 and ran for two series.
