Jeremy Corbyn may have taken to the BBC Election Debate podium at the last minute, but there was still one significant political player absent from last night’s showdown: Theresa May. Instead the Conservative leader sent along Home Secretary Amber Rudd in her place...
So, where was the Prime Minister? Viewers took their best theories to Twitter...
Some said May had taken time off to watch the Britain’s Got Talent semi-final...
Other ideas were inspired by Lib Dem leader Tim Farron, who suggested in his opening speech that "she might be out there sizing up your house to pay for your social care.”
