Tom Hiddleston teases "surprising" Avengers: Doomsday plot as he confirms his filming is done
Just one more year to wait...

It might not be coming out until this time next year, but already Tom Hiddleston is exciting Marvel fans for the release of Avengers: Doomsday in December 2026.
In a cover story with GQ, the actor behind Loki, Thor’s adopted brother and beloved Lord of Mischief, teased that his character would be continuing his "glorious purpose," as set out by the finale of his own Disney+ series in 2023.
In the climactic episode of the celebrated series, Loki became the protector of the entire multiverse, holding the delicate branches of realities together in a major development of his rebellious character.
We’ll have to wait until December next year to find out exactly how Loki will fit into Avengers: Doomsday, but Hiddleston promises that the film will be "monumental."
"The centre of the story is absolutely brilliant, and was so surprising when I read it. It just has never been done before."
The actor’s comments come shortly after the release of the latest Avengers: Doomsday teaser, in which Chris Hemsworth’s Thor prays to his father, Odin, for protection in battle so that he can be reunited with his daughter, Love.

The teaser came one week after Disney revealed that Chris Evans’s Steve Rogers would be returning for the long-awaited movie, no doubt fighting side-by-side with Anthony Mackie’s new-look Captain America.
Hiddleston’s Loki joins a vast array of returning characters for the ensemble superhero blockbuster, joining the likes of Mr Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), and many more.
Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on 18th December, 2026, while the next Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is premiering months earlier on 31st July.
Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston is set to return as Jonathan Pine for the new season of The Night Manager on New Year's Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
