Last year's Marty Supreme received critical acclaim and a huge boom at the box office at the start of the new year.

Starring Timothée Chalamet and directed by Josh Safdie, the film follows driven to-a-fault ping pong player Marty Mauser on his venture to become the greatest American champion in the sport of all time.

Since its release in December 2025, the film has racked up a long list of nominations at all the major award shows including 11 BAFTA nominations, three Critics Choice, three SAGs and nine nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards in mid-March.

However, the blockbuster also set an unfortunate record at this year's BAFTAs for the most losses in history after it failed to win an award for any of the 11 categories it was nominated in. Hopefully it will fare better at the Oscars.

If you haven't had a chance to catch the ping pong movie at the cinema and want to see what all the fuss is about before the next awards show, here's how you can watch Marty Supreme online.

How to watch Marty Supreme – is it streaming?

Marty Supreme is available to watch at home but it's not yet on a streaming service.

Instead, the film can be rented on Apple TV and Prime Video both for the polished price of £15.99, or £19.99 if you wish to keep it forever.

Two months on from its release in cinemas, there is still the very odd showing of it thanks to its nominations success during awards season, but the showings are so few that your easiest bet is to rent it at home.

However, if the price is just a little too dear then A24 films do tend to be distributed onto the American steaming service Max but that probably won't be for a few months, still which is a good thing as Max is only becoming available to UK viewers in March.

What is Marty Supreme about?

Marty Supreme is a fictional story, loosely based on the life of table-tennis champion Marty Reisman. Whilst Timothée Chalamet plays Marty and they do tell some of the events of his life, it is not a true biopic.

The film follows Chalamet's character on his hell bent mission to become America's greatest table-tennis player, for better or for worse. The 23-year-old abandons his life as a shoe salesman, along with all his other responsibilities, to hustle together enough funds to make it out to the championships in Tokyo, Japan.

In doing so, he strains relationships with friends, family and his girlfriend but also builds new ones, namely with the faded film star Kay Stone played by Gwyneth Paltrow, and her husband.

The film is erratic and fast paced without a moment's break, which mirrors Marty's frantic and arrogant energy throughout.

Marty Supreme cast: Who stars alongside Timothée Chalamet?
