What Men Want

Taraji P Henson stars as a sports agent who acquires the power to read men's minds in this gender-reversed remake of the 2000 Mel Gibson comedy What Women Want. Packed with shouty, obvious gags, director Adam Shankman's comic fantasy goes for the broader laughs rather than any kind of profound exploration of gender inequality. Henson throws herself into her role (often literally), and she's surrounded by a talented cast, including Tracy Morgan and the hilarious Erykah Badu, who plays a foul-mouthed mystic. Like the Gibson film, What Men Want keeps things light and, thanks to some likeable performances, it's never dull.
