This week's Radio Times magazine is a special edition devoted to podcasts. A few weeks ago we were sitting in the office talking about the podcasts that we listen to. It was interesting to hear how quickly people become loyal to a relatively small set of productions when there are thousands to choose from.

Most of us at RT, it transpires, listen to The Rest Is Entertainment, the BBC's Newscast and of course The Radio Times Podcast with the excellent Caroline Frost and her brilliant guests, usually plucked from the staff at RT... (Modesty prevents me naming names.)

However, I then realised that I've listened doggedly for several years to the same ten or so podcasts that I download every week, and I suggested that perhaps it was time I added a few new ones to my playlist.

The recommendations came thick and fast and – hey presto! – this issue was born. Put together by Caroline and our resident TV listings and radio guru David Crawford, find it inside this week's issue.
