The competitors gliding around the rink at the Milano Ice Skating Arena are more than just athletes; they're performers who will jump, spin, step, throw, lift, and spiral in a bid to impress the judges.

After a disappointing start to the Games for Team GB, there is optimism that Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson could end the podium drought by delivering Britain's first Olympic figure skating medal since the iconic Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in 1994.

The pair sit fourth in the standings ahead of the final event of the ice dance, the free dance, on Wednesday evening after getting the Milano Ice Skating Arena bouncing with their Spice Girls routine.

Elsewhere, the United States are tipped to be the dominant force in figure skating and all eyes are on the Olympic debut of American star Ilia Malinin – nicknamed Quad God because he is able to land skating's toughest jump, the quadruple axel.
