It's hard to say the Winter Olympics 2026 curling competitions are only heating up now given they already reached boiling point during the double-touch 'cheating' controversy but it is getting extremely tense out there at the Cortina Olympic Curling Stadium.

Team GB are still in the hunt to progress to the semi-finals in both the men's and women's events, but neither side is in control of their own destiny.

Men's skip Bruce Mouat and his rink wrapped up their preliminary campaign on Wednesday afternoon, while Rebecca Morrison's women conclude their week of action on Thursday afternoon

The final day of preliminary match-ups will provide must-watch television with the nation willing on Team Mouat and Team Morrison to extend their campaign into the final weekend of the Games.

Radio Times takes a look at what the men's and women's Team GB curlers need to qualify for the next round.

Winter Olympics 2026 curling permutations: How can Team GB qualify?

Men's team

Bruce Mouat's men have qualified for the semi-finals of the men's team curling event.

Next match: Semi-finals – Team GB v Switzerland (6:05pm)

Women's team

Everything has gone right for Rebecca Morrison's women since her majestic stone to steal a win against USA on Wednesday kept their dream alive. They boast a record of four wins and four defeats.

Team GB must defeat Italy, Switzerland must defeat United States to qualify.

Assuming the above happens...

If Canada defeat South Korea:

  • Canada automatically qualify, USA/South Korea/Team GB would be completely level in the head-to-head with one win and one loss to each of the other two teams. Team GB would qualify via the draw shot challenge. USA and South Korea would be eliminated.

If South Korea defeat Canada:

  • South Korea automatically qualify, Team GB would join them due to beating both USA and Canada in the prelims. USA and Canada would be eliminated.

Next match: versus Italy (1:05pm, Thursday 19th February)
