Brighton will look to kick-start their season away at Championship strugglers Oxford United in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday evening.

The Seagulls are winless in 2025/26 and have taken just one point from their first two Premier League games after falling to a 2-0 defeat away at Everton on the weekend.

Fabian Hurzeler has hinted he will shuffle his pack for the game at the Kassam Stadium but has made it no secret that Brighton see the Carabao Cup as a trophy they can win this season.

The first step on that path is to get past the hosts, who have endured a difficult start to Gary Rowett's first full campaign in charge.

Oxford are only one place off the bottom of the Championship after three straight league defeats while their only win of the season was a narrow victory against League Two side Colchester United in the last round of the Carabao Cup.
