Birmingham City will hope to maintain their fast start to the 2025/26 campaign when they welcome League One strugglers Port Vale to St Andrew's in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.
The Blues have hit the ground running in the Championship after last term's promotion, rising to fifth with seven points from three games, while they beat Sheffield United 2-1 in the last round of this competition.
The new campaign has been a tougher ride for Port Vale, who are winless in League One since winning promotion back to the third division and are in the relegation zone as a result.
