Emmerdale has included a surprise, last minute scene in Monday's (28th July) edition of the ITV soap, in honour of the Lionesses' big win in the 2025 Euros on Sunday (27th July).

The women's England team claimed victory with a score of 3 - 1 in penalties thanks to Chloe Kelly's final kick, with goalkeeper Hannah Hampton's epic saves proving crucial right until the very last minute.

As a new week dawned in Emmerdale, viewers got a glimpse of the aftermath of the Woolpack's celebrations, with the pub in disarray after a wild night.

Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) was surprised to see Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) looking bright-eyed and bushy tailed after the festivities, and it wasn't long before the pair were discussing their pride for the Lionesses.

Mary believed there was "no stopping" the team now, and she and Bob shared a triumphant 'roar' in tribute to their work.

The show had filmed the extra scene in advance, in hopeful anticipation of a win – and it looks like this was a good omen for England!

Producer Laura Shaw explained: "With the nation getting behind the Lionesses, we knew the fictional characters in Emmerdale would’ve been doing just the same, so it felt right and proper that we should reflect this result on the show.”

After all that excitement, soon it was back to business as usual for the villagers, as Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was harassed by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) into selling Butler's Farm.

Moira continued to refuse Joe, having recently learned that he paid off the water company to turn down her appeal over the slurry leak.

Worse was to come, though, when two masked, male intruders left Moira's stepson Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) so terrified that he stabbed one in the leg with a pitchfork.

The injured lad happened to be Dylan (Fred Kettle), April Windsor's (Amelia Flanagan) friend from the streets.

As the other intruder aimed the fork at Kyle, Moira threatened the lads with a shotgun and they scarpered.

But when Moira, convinced the incident was Joe's handiwork, confronted him and tried to punch him, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was left bleeding on the floor after stepping in!

Will Moira regret her hasty actions?
